I listen to techno.

I have no fuckin' idea what you're talking about.

I have a potty mouth.

I just got the Blackest Album. It so technos. (It so rocks just didn't sound right)

Used to. But I preferred Deep House, hard beats, and breakbeat to fluffy trance (booooring) and Brit techno. Still, I've been out of the scene for about 6 years now.

Check the link in my sig

It should give you a clue how I feel about techno.

I always thought of techno as including all types..breakbeat hardhouse trance jungle d&b all of it..maybe I'm wrong?

I think what used to be the techno "umbrella" is now the electronica "umbrella."

From the cruising I've done online, techno seems to be a part of electronica rather than referring to electronica anymore.

*pouts*

I can't see your sig line, sugar.

TECHnically yes. But techno also is used to refer to electronica that doesn't fit into the categories such as house, trance (a kind of techno, I think), d&b - how's that for a definition. Techno will follow a steady rhythm, unlike d&b, but is faster than house. Think of Moby or Sasha.

I'm a drum & bass kinda girl. LTJ Bukem, Sientific American, that sorta stuff.

You should check out Cirrus' Counterfeit Anything by the Chemical Bros. is good, as is PropellerHeads.

good techno recently has been few and far between, imho.

I'm down with some beats....

I have to say - my fave band is Lords of Acid. I also like Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers. When it comes to beats, I like mostly jungle, happy hardcore and hardcore house. But I love hardcore industrial too, like Ramnstein and Ministry.

Here's a Lords link

UHMMM.....UHMMMM..GOOD :)

Does Crystal Method qualify?

I'll check back for your answer after I'm finished soakin my dentures. God damns it, my Depends are leaking!!

Shit, remember Kraftwerk, are they still around?

Of course us old farts listen to techno, I prefer Trance myself. I play it on winamp all the time in the back ground, when I am not running a lot of apps.

Techno was invented during our time kids. Sorry about that.

Looks like everyone was surprised that 'us' old farts listen to techno. Shut them up, didn't we.

I'm a fan of pretty much most music genres that fall under the electronica umbrella these days although I have my favorites.. I actually don't listen to too much D&B or Jungle styles..

I listen to far more trance than anything else (Sasha, old Oakenfold, Sandra Collins) but more and more i'm starting to listen to new bands that play a sort of homage to synth music from the 80's euro explosion..

Also agree with an above poster on Lord of Acid.. I saw them with Thrill Kill Kult years ago in concert... talk about a party.. ;)

And kraftwerk, pigface, throbbing gristle.. classic industrial.. perhaps the schoolteacher can give a few lessons.. :)

Kraftwerk is ace!

There's been a revival of Kraftwerkesque sort of stuff for the past 10 years - such as with groups like Soul Oddity (aka Phoenicia). Japanese Telecom is good too - fluffier though - lots of video game bleeps and beeps.

For dancing, though, I love House. Little Louie Vega, Carl Cox - older, early 90s NY stuff. Hard House. Even Dubtribe.

I used to like San Fran breakbeat, but much of it is fun, but sloppy (Simply Jeff, e.g.).

I think emenem answered this in his lyrical classic Without Me

FUCK marshall mathers.

I would rather listen to some techno than that fucking white-trash cum stain any day of the fucking week.

What the fuck is wrong with kids today eh?
