Anyone know the NCAA rules about student-athletes (those that have signed the NLI)?

I have a couple paragraphs in my chapter that has interaction with an NCAA coach and a student-athlete that's signed a National Letter of Intent. I have been unable to find anywhere in the rules if the interaction is legal under NCAA restrictions.

Is there anyone that knows the rules with such a student?

Thank you.

I’m assuming you meant when can Div I coaches contact athletes?
Generally speaking, DI coaches can send athletes nonrecruiting material at any time. Serious recruiting contact begins either June 15 after sophomore year or September 1 of junior year, depending on the sport and division level. OTOH, Athletes can always communicate with college coaches through their club or high school coach and send emails and texts to coaches. They just will not get a direct response from coaches until their sport’s contact period begins. Those are the gen rules but they can be more specific depending on the sport (e.g. hockey has different rules b/c players can turn pro earlier than football/basketball). I assume the coach is from the school at which the athlete signed the NLI. If not, that commc'n would constitute a recrutiing violation b/c once you sign your NLI all other coaches/universities are prohibited from continuing to recruit you.

Yes, it's the same school he verbally agreed to swim for.

Can I PM you the paragraphs? It has to do with admissions of a friend of his and off campus contact. He's a senior and the contact is during the swim season (he's a swimmer).

I also have a question about NCAA rules and off campus living. Would he be allowed to live off campus in a friends (opposite sex) apartment?
