First of alll, you can only link images into your posts if they are on the web. You need to move the pictures to a webpage so the BB software can find them when you are not online.

Second, you need to check out the IMG and /IMG tag instructions in the link at the top of the reply form "vB code is on" That link tells you all about the different things you can do by imbedding commands in your posts.

On the very bottom of this page or thread you will see the following:

Sorry about that, my explanations are usually a bit clearer than that.

I see you figured things out thanks to forgetunome. But to clarify one thing. A picture does not have to be on YOUR webpage, just accessible on the web.

Your suggestion of a single thread for pictures is a good one. That would allow those with slow connections to avoid picture laden threads. Pictures are nice, but for some people, they slow down the page to the point it's not worth the wait.

Just to bring this thread back up where newbies can find it:

If your pictures aren't on the web, or from the web, then you need to get them posted on someone's web page.

Your ISP may offer a free personal webpage, but be picky about the content. i.e. no nekkid pikchers, no pirating copyrighted material, etc.

There are a couple of webmasters that frequent the BB who may put a picture on their website's server for you to hotlink to the BB.

If all else fails, register your own domain name, and start your own website where you can post whatever you want.
