yeah, you can goto stop&shop, corner stores.. you just can't buy food that's already made to eat.

It's called SNAP now and comes on a card, I do believe.
Even if you saw someone using it, you likely wouldn't notice.

It's not hard to see someone using their EBT card. It swipes the same way that a debit card does. You could read EBT on those cards from 10 feet away. They cannot be used to purchase beer, liquor or cigarettes. The retailers will refuse because they would face large fines and loss of license if they got caught. Not worth the risk under any circumstances.
