This may be a daft question, but is the "am Main" added because there is another Frankfurt and the two might get confused? My brain being what it is, I've wondered this for twenty odd years. My capacity for inertia being what it is, I haven't been arsed to Google it...

There are indeed 2 Frankfurts in Germany. The one I live in is along the river called the Main. The other is along the river Oder on the border with Poland.

I love Feuerzangenbowle. Red wine with rum and melted sugar. It packs a punch!!

A hot tea with honey and a squeeze of lemon usually works. I've also roasted a bulb of garlic and ate that - it worked, too.
