i finally understand why i've heard it called yahell. Whether i get the messages back, i'm going to start saving the important stuff in word documents.

Dumb question, but have you tried downloading it again?

Would it be wrong to say i'm glad i'm not the only one having problems? :(

Your message archive is stored somewhere on your computer. I don't know where, though.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

*waiting patiently for Weird Harold or cyberski or some equally compu-knowledgable litsters to come tell me where*

It's not that i'm a pack rat, but there are a couple of things i'd rather not have lost.

Ok, so maybe i *am* a pack rat. i admit it

It's back! It's back! It's back!

i can't help it. It has that first tossed-in-as-He-was-saying-good-night 'love ya'

Even though i get to hear it ear-to-ear every night, it's still nice to have.

Good!

Now get to work saving it as permanent files on your hard drive. And back it up just in case. :D

C://program files/yahoo!/messenger/profiles/"your screenname"/archive/messages

^^ thats where you can find your message archives at, just copy the folder and paste it somewhere else on your hard drive to back it up in case the first one disappears/gets deleted/some other weird occurance.

yahoo message archive

look under "preferences"
then click "archive"
one of the options is to delete a message after "x" days.
just unclick it or set it to a large number, like 365.
not sure if you can access an archived message separately using notepad, wordpad, etc
but you can open an archived message while in yahoo,
then you can choose to save the message as a text file on
your computer

message me at yahoo if you need more help
