Anyone else hate clowns besides me?

So EJ, what freaks you about mims?

I've always thought they intend to be an artistic expression, although I don't really "get" the art. What was the TV show that during the intro, one of the characters walked up to a mime (who was balancing on one foot) watched for a second then pushed the mime over? For some reason I'm thinking Oscar Madison / The Odd Couple, but I could be way off base.

nothing really freaks me out about mimes... i just find them freaky-strange. they're sick, twisted people who, i'm sure, are just one genetic glitch away from being serial killers.

an interesting story:

i was in NYC several years ago and there was a mime doin' his thing on a street corner... near time's square i believe. in the middle of broad daylight, some dude walks up to the mime, pulls a gun out of his coat pocket and blows a hole in the mime's chest.

all i could think was... "a mime is a terrible thing to waste." :D

ok. maybe you saw that one comin'. ;)

During the 80's i worked for 8 years as a full time clown, doing sing-a-grams and delivering balloons year round. As i delivered to many parties which almost always are scheduled on weekends, i never had the weekends off. Instead i worked extra hours on those days & many times without notice. It sucked.
Since having that job, i now HATE clowns. i hate their big red noses, and their poofy rainbow afro wigs, and big shoes. i hate balloons too.

Best part was when i wrote my first resume after leaving that clown job. How many people can claim on their resumes that they have 8 years full time experience as a professional clown???

Yup, that's right, I hate clowns. The give me the creeps bigtime. Like shivers up and down my spine. Something about them....the mystery of the face and the fake smile. My wife just found this out about 6 months ago when we were watching IT.

So, I'd like to know if anyone else hates them too.

My nephew has always had a morbid fear of them. I don't know why, he didn't have any creapy toys or anything? He is 9 and still hates them.

My clown story..

I know some of you will laugh but, when I was a kid (around 5 or 6 years old) sleeping in my room, I would wake in the middle of the night to this huge fucken clown with a puffy green clown suite. It would come out of my bedroom closet and slaughter chickens. He would cut them with huge knife and twist their heads off and leave the chicken bodies in a pile. I swear I could even smell the blood in the air... I would close my eyes and hope to go back to sleep..sometimes it worked and sometimes he would still be there. This was way back around 1977, before any of that horror stuff was written. I "think" it was my imagination now that im grown, however there is also this part of me...maybe the inner child that still fights with that manifestation from time to time....yeah they are creepy and I wont let my kids around them.

Clowns give me a serious case of the creepies, too. I just don't like them.

I have a t-shirt somewhere around here that says:

I can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
I can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
I can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
I can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
I can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
I can't sleep, the clowns will eat me

I hate clowns, i always have since i was a child, cant see what is so funny about them, just stupid! So theres my little thought on the subject :rose:

I believe you have to use a silencer to shoot a mime in NYC...

While I don't fear clowns I do hate them nonetheless, freaking stupid in my opinion.
Ditto most of the ventriloquist dummies.
It didn't help matters when I was forced to watch "Bride of Chucky", or whatever the damned movie was called.
That had to be among the top ten stupid movies of all time.

ROFLMAO Scepter!!! :D

But I did like ALL the Chucky movies....Nothing like a little man with a plastic cock!! :nana:

Heh, only 2 people (one me) whove posted who -dont- hate clowns. lol. Thats funny. Theyve never freaked me out. Excet the movie "killer clowns from outer space". Now -that- fucked me up for a while. lol

I never hated clowns. If anything, they made me somewhat sad. However, the current cultural modality seems to be "clowns are evil". Everyone hates them. There's even a wiki to explain it all: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_clown

Personally, I think clown hating is played out and it is time to bring back the joyousness of clowns.
