Anyone else get feedback where they forget to leave their email?

I've gotten a few story feedback emails lately in which the anonymous writer forgets to include their email address, but asks me a question.

In response to their questions:

Anon #1
Q: What does pansexual mean?

A: Google it.

Anon #2
Q: Can I see you naked?

A: No.

Anyone else have weird anonymous emails that somehow expect you to magically track them down and respond to them without an email address? (Probably wouldn't have responded to those two particular emails anyway, but it's still annoying.)

Yep, I get asked questions and write out an answer, only to find that the commenter has given a fake e-mail address to Lit.

Even though I note in the foreword to all my stories that if you email me I will reply if you leave a valid email address to respond to, a surprising number of times they ask a question and leave no email, then post a snotty comment along the lines of 'huh, this guy's too arrogant to reply to even simple questions from his readers', but I don't know how I'm supposed to pick them out from the other 6+ billion people on this planet if they don't tell me who they are or where I can direct a reply.

By horny logic, Keith, as a writer of erotica, you must have magical psychic skills by which to track down your readers and respond to their thirsty inquiries.

Amazingly, in 2020, people still do not know how to use the internet.

I’m not sure I’m upset or not no one’s ever sent me private feedback asking to see me naked. Of course, such people as would ask shouldn’t be allowed out in public.

Then again, I’ve never received private feedback (yes, it’s enabled). I apparently fail to inspire my readers.

Nope. I either get straight out anonymous comments, and most of those are quite nice, or I get genuine email addresses. I always reply to those. The anonymous comments are the ones with the abuse and I haven’t actually had any of those for a couple of years now. Guess I’m lucky.

I did seem to get two very close to one another. Maybe it was the same, very confused person.

Just had one today. Posted a comment bitching about some spelling and grammar errors and offered to proof read my stories for me. Then posted the comment as Anon Y. Mous

Did you not hire a crier to go into the town square to announce your acceptance of their offer of services?

Not a defense of anonymous feedback where a reply is expected or presumed, but I have to say, the feedback system here is pretty hard to figure out.

I left my first feedback to an author without leaving my email address, figuring they would see my member name and be able to respond to me (if they wanted) by looking up my profile and sending me a note that way. I didn't want to share my email address at first. Now I'm not sure whether they would have even seen my member name.

And I didn't realize that feedback was going directly to my email inbox. I thought I would get pinged on my author page or something. Then I went and looked at my (little used) email inbox and saw I had feedback that was many days old.

I had a request from someone who wanted to know if I would write a custom story. I replied with the email provided, but it bounced back showing no such email. Now I'm worried about a potential hack.

So I'm still getting used to it, even as a contributing author.
