I a huge videogame collector and player. I have well over 50 video game systems ranging from Odyssey from 1972 to all the latest generation systems.

Anybody else really into videogames?

Many years ago I did video games since they were great distraction/stress release from college. Now I pretty much just play online games or pc games for the same reason.

Yes, played three separate MMORPGs (two that I quit), done beta testing but not played later on for another. I also work on two gaming websites, writing and editing for them.

I love video games, I just don't have time for them anymore.

Thats my problem. I started playing an rpg about a month ago and I've logged like 7 hours on it.

I've got probably 300 games and I bet I've only beaten about 40 of them!

I know for a fact there are at least half of them I've never played.

I've only stayed with PlayervPlayer ones. PvE ones are boring now, so I can't even do the single player games. I get bored.

Used to have pong and a hand-me-down Atari. Never really could get into them.

An exbf (met in Lit chat) introduced me to a MMORPG online so we could "hunt" together. I met my current sub/fiance there. And later I followed him over to another with more PvP capabilities. But overall I still prefer PvE. Not many others in the game do, PvP is the end-game so people play towards that so I end up soloing.

Lately been feeling I play the stupid thing just to have something to do. Since, my fiance is now busy with college and work, he's not playing as much.

I'm an avid gamer, myself. Though I'm trying not to play as much and go back to some physical fun - keep me in shape. However, I'm currently working on getting a second degree in video game design (mostly for 3D purposes - since I do film) - it's either that or go back to grad school and finish up in International Law... which my parents keep pestering me over. I hate law, though... so we'll see.

vival la video gaming!

I've got an NES, SNES, Dreamcast, sega genesis, xbox, ps1, ps2, n64, gamecube, and gameboy advance sp....

I mostly play rpgs and survival horror, a few action games and FPS's.

I'm really fond of the old school SNES rpgs..the graphics suck but god, they stories were GREAT!

i've never been much into video games at all. Most 'shoot them, kill them' games never do it for me. i still remember when Atari first cam out. A friend of mine who lived next door had Atari before anyone else on the block did. We'd all hang at her house after school. While they played PacMan ... i just watched, and munched out on the sofa to kill my boredom.

First time i ever touched a computer was to play the game "MYST". Now THAT is a game that held my interest. i played through every level and never once went online to grab a 'cheat' (i didn't even KNOW how to get online, or even WHAT online WAS back then ... heh). Never did figure out which brother was the bad guy though, my uncle took his PC & the Myst CD with him when he moved out. i now have 'URU - Ages Beyond Myst' installed on this PC ... barely made it past the first level and i've had it for over a year. Just don't have the time to play as much as i might like to. :)

<----- Computer gamer

I've been gaming since I first used a computer (1990, when I was 4). I still have an 8088 in my room at home for those really old games.

I always wonder what the future of video games is going to hold. It makes me feel kinda nice that technology might keep my more senior years from being mind numbing. When I'm too old to do much physically, I'll probably be able to strap on a VR helmet and repel an alien invasion with all my other geriatric buddies.

Ha ha, I bet I'll still be able to get some young sub to suck my limp wrinkled dick during pause breaks too!

My kind of thread!

I still have my Intellevision and Atari, along with all the old cartridge games. In addition, have the original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and Amiga collecting dust in my storage room.

I find they just don't make games like they used to, though. While visually stunning, I would still would take Good ol' text based Zork over any of 'em.

Let me throw my hat in too...Im a gamer from way back. I started out on the Odyssey then moved to the Atari 2600 system. Ive had the Colecovision and 8 bit Nintendo. Sega Genesis with the CD-ROM and 32X (what a crock that was)... SuperNintindo, Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn...Yep had em all. My first PC was a Commodore Vic 20 which I traded up for a TRS-80 after realizing that the Vic would never have as many games for it. Today I still have some of my old systems including an Atari 5200, and play more PC based games than on consoles (even though I have an X-Box and used to have a PS2).

I *wish* I did not suck at videogames. I envy people who have the ability to play them and play them well.

I did absolutely fine in the early days, pre Atari, with asteroids or centipede or whatever, and early, early games. But once the technology improved and D&D type games got past the few characters classes and 6 attributes, it just got to be too much for me.

If it takes more than 15 minutes to get anything accomplished, I get bored. I also don't have hours and hours of free time to devote to anything. I LOVE the idea of large interactive games but I am so awful at them that I get frustrated, so the idea of being a part of a group is useless.

I started playing Guild Wars because I heard it's fairly basic as far as adventure games go, and I do ok...but still, I don't play nearly enough to really accomplish anything. And I honestly wish I were better at them so I could enjoy them.

Oh well!

Met my husband online during TSN/INN's Shadows of Yserbius game.

The family that plays together stays together.

We'll always have something to talk about. I don't like sports, but I can understand why it's good to have a really nice sword.

I always play complete evil and my son gets freaked out.

"Mommy, you're going to help him!"

The guy's head will explode in pyrotechnics. "No, no not really"

Stuff like "Fable" and "Knights Of The Old Republic" Games written by people who KNOW evil and you can try the most vile stuff and it's probably been programmed into the game. Warms my heart.

Evil people rock.
