Anybody on the board 'right now' in or around Atlanta?

You're watching the Dog Challenge thing?

That's way too perverse for the Sparkster.

Yeah - never seen......

so much dog shit in baggies - in one place - in my life.

Got these big ass inflatable dogs too.

I'm not a dog person - but to each their own.

And - what's with no liquor stores in the Downtown area - the hotel folks tell me 'it's not safe.'

What? I'm from Manhattan - looks pretty sleepy to me. Got my pistol anyway - ya never know. Had to go to Buckhead for a bottle of wine.

ESPN zone rocks.

Funeral today.

Funerals are bad, especially when the younger members of the tribe die.

Atlanta works like this:

Buckhead is a very cool and expensive party zone.....Bankhead Highway will get you high, shot, stabbed, and raped (in that order).

Buford Highway will get you a thousand different variations on Vietnamese, Korean, Mexican, Colombian, and Ethiopian foods....I say just eat at Don Taco (three locations on Buford alone) easily the best fast food Mexican joint in the world and the only joint where I can find Tres Leches cakes AND churros (fried cinnamon doughnut sticks) on the menu.

Strip clubs abound and I'm sure you've already scouted this. For something different try a black club where the women actually dance and will do something called "the booty clap" where the women will dance so hard their ass cheeks applaud your existence (I swear this is true).

If you like sports memorabilia go to Buckhead's Distant Replay for the coolest jerseys and hats and stuff. This is where all the rappers get all their retro-gear. In fact, they have a wall of pics with all the celebrities that come in. Pretty cool and not too pricey. I bought my favorite hat for around 25 bucks there.

P.S.--Get out of downtown, it's for tourists only.

And yet you never visit. I think this speaks volumes about the reliability of tractors and your desire for micropenis.

Atlanta is becoming like Oregon.

Visit if you must, but please, don't anyone else move here.

Exactly. But once people realize that you don't have to live in the Arctic and that new-fangled air conditioner contraption really works, they come down by the busload.

Know where Albany is? Thats closer.

Dawn

Like most Atlantans, I've rarely ventured out of 770 except to go to Florida.

But strangely, yes, I have been to Albany. There's a Black college there that I used to visit from time to time.

Albany State University

Have you seen it lately? They have done a good deal of building and such to correct problems from the flooding. There are some very nice improvements but I'm partial since I worked with the civil engineers that did the work.

I haven't been to Albany St. since I was in college so it's been almost 10 years, but I'm glad it's getting a makeover.

If you make up this way N. Atlanta often, maybe we could have a cup of coffee...

Now that is an offer no lady in her right mind could refuse.

There really has been a good bit done, if you get the chance you should venture down and see.

Liar! That's fucking bullshit and you know it. Admit it - you've been to 678 and 770, probably more than you will confess.

Back from the funeral.....

H.M. Patterson's place on Spring.

Great funeral - lousy occation - I'm exhausted. A very good friend, a lawyer - to a long bout with cancer - only 42. Beautiful woman, beautiful person. Packed event.

Hangin' with one of Judge Tuttle's grandkids - also a good friend. I figure only hard-corp Atlantan's will know of the Judge Tuttle.

The deceased husband - one of my very, very best friends - a Japanese fellow who was raised here in the states, a fellow biker, musician - actually 'gave me' an old Sears Silvertone guitar he found for me on E-bay. I mean - I was flabergasted! Here I'm at his wifes funeral (she was very, very good friends with the Shebabe) and he - he gives me this fucking gift! I tried to refuse it and he would have nothing of it, the Japanese in him.

Amazing! I was touched. The whole day was a major mental ordeal. Again, I'm exhausted.

Dick Buckhead last night - hangin' low tonight - baby keepin' us in. Headin' for the coast through Athens (my old school) tomorrow.

Don't know about Atlanta - still needs a lot of work. It's a piece of art in progress. And - no salt water. Big problem in my head. But I could live here if the bucks were right. Maybe.

Hey, I once went inside to 404 but they kicked me out. Not Black enough for the mayor.

Spark, I'm really sorry about your loss but it seems like you have a great group of buddies. Guitars and guns are not gifts to be taken lightly; they're only a notch below a prized car or a good wife.

Hehe.........

Actually she seems to be doing a pretty decent job so far. Almost anything wold have been an improvement after Sleazeball left office.

Did you see the AJC headlines after she was inagurated?
"SISTAH MAYOR!"

What a fucking rag.

We'll never get a good mayor as long as the job is open only to Black candidates. That's not to say Blacks can't do an excellent job but many of the Progressive Black candidates refuse to play the "I've done more for Black people than you have" game that must be played to get elected and stay in office. I'm still undecided on Franklin but I do like her blonde hair and pot hole policy. Now if we could only get truly light rail (like St. Louis) I'd definitely be on her side.

BTW--The AJC is not worth the paper it's printed on most days.
