I'm a big fish geek as well. I primarily keep and breed African Cichlids right now, but I have as many fish tanks as a small pet store.

Anybody else?

We have 3 tanks here. They are occupied by 7 snakes, 1 tiny mouse (snake isn't hungry yet, i guess) ... a toad (Master found it outside in the yard, tossed it in as a snake snack) .. & 2 hermit crabs. No fish here. Sorry. :)

We currently have 5 tanks set up...
One has 4 turtles and 2 crabs in a 20 gallon tank
One has a huge crayfish named Davey Jones, and various feeder fish for Davey. That one is a 10 gallon
One has two lizards that hitched a ride on my truck in Fl. Also a 10 gallon.
One has Levil the frog, in a 20 gallon tank
One has, oops had two hermit crabs, but we're down to one. This too is a 10 gallon.

Holly has a Betta on her desk, and we have a 75 gallon aquarium in the garage waiting for us to finish painting before we set it up. Holly has also hinted at yet another 75 gallon corner tank for Christmas.

Not to mention...
Chaotic Overlord (pitbull/sharpei mix), General DisarRay (shih tzu), and Major Havoc (pitbull), our dogs,
Tyler, Simoriah, Grendel, and Mia Mahem our cats.
And finally feeder mice for the frog.

Frogs eat mice?

I know that "Pac Man Frogs" do.

Actually Pac Man frogs shouldn't eat mice.

Ours is a Pixie Frog, or African Bullfrog, and will grow to be about 10 inches long, and about 4lbs.

Pixies, and American Bullfrogs can eat mice.

I thought I would post photos of our enclosures, so many people that know about our snakes think they roam the house freely. If they did, we wouldn't have Junior, our cat, Deeoogee, our Black Lab, or our younger daughters! The 2 larger enclosures are over 6 feet long, I can lay down in either one with room to spare!

We also have a small enclosure for our Tarantula, Harmony. When I first met my little girl (sinnocent) she had a terrible fear of spiders, now, not only does she hold her, but her enclosure is proudly displayed on her computer desk!

So the count is 7 snakes from 1 foot to 17 feet, 2 hermit crabs, a Toad, a Rosy Legged tarantula, a 7 month old Black Lab, and a very spoiled cat. We always have some type of food for the creatures, rabbits, mice, crickets, etc.

Dang, you learn something new every day.

I once had a 30 gallon with an Oscar fish. His name was Charlie and he was my baby. There was nothing in the tank with him because he would either eat or destroy it. We used to get him live goldfish to eat and whoa to us if the fish store was out of feeders. He would go to the bottom of the tank and swim up as fast as he could and shoot water 10 feet out of his tank. Then he would bash his head against the glass and open his mouth really big and shake his head at us in a rage. I really miss that guy. :(

We've got one lonely 10 galon tank with a few fish in it. We have an Iridescent shark named Pete the Pirate Shark, a Yellow Molly (who is about to be euthanized, the poor thing has like an infection or something and none of the medicines the fish shop gave me have worked) Two orange neon tetras, one glow fish (its like a bright pink tetra) a tuxedo tetra, a half-beak something or other and a bottom feeder (not a coulli loach, cant' remember what it is). We like to keep our tank stocked with ghost shrimp as feeders for the shark and the molly, but our pet store's supplier is currently out for an undeterminable amount of time.

My uncle used to have this huge tank with lots of fish in it, including a cat fish he called 'killer'. If he didn't get shrimp for Killer in a bi weekly basis Killer would start eating the other fish.

The other fish, by the way, never went anywhere near Killer's corner of the tank.

I had a fish bowl with a gold fish and it died two days later :(

But when I went to Australia I had a boa around my neck. It is a beautiful animal.

I used to have several aquariums when I had jewel cichlids. I started out with one take then had to get several others because they were breeding like guppies. Every time I looked in a tank it seemed like there were more babies lol.

Later on I donated all the jewel cichlids because I couldn't keep up with the breeding rate and started doing African Cichlids. I must say that I do love them.

I acquired a tank through a friend recently and if I can get it clean (it has lime buildup or something) I'm going to set it up to do African Cichlids again

I have had aquariums and tropicals off an on for years.
Currently I just have a four foot tank for my plecostamus (Fish) who is now 5 years old and about 8 inches long. He shares with 6 clown loaches who are controlling my plague of cone snails.
I cant use chemicals because the tank is usually home to my (check this out for a name) australian long necked, oblong freshwater turtle called Chips.
He resides in a 2 foot prison until the snails have been eradicated, as he ate 4 loaches. He is buddies with Fish, they grew up together, and ever day or so gets a catfish clean and polish, but any strangers are quickly devoured, piecemeal if need be. I bought some tetras and guppies to add some colour once and I thought they would be quick enough, but he got them too.

I have two tanks set up now, as opposed to the 13 I had previously... Since we moved 2 years ago and I've had another baby I don't have the time (or the passion) for keeping fish like I used to. I am hoping to turn my 90 into a reef tank once all the current inhabitants are gone, but since they include a relatively young Plecostomus I don't think I'll be going 'salty' anytime soon...

I also keep a small tank with a Chinese Firebelly Toad. He's the last of four and the smartest I guess as all the others figured out how to escape the tank but then dried up overnight (they need constant moisture)

I've also started an aquarium club in my area (founding president no less!;)), as well belong to 3 online forum groups- one of which I moderated on back when I had more free time...

Syb. :rose:

Hi...

I have a 150 gal fresh and 100 gal salt. In the fresh I have mostly catfishes...they are my favorites. And the salt water tank has mostly inverts and goby type fish.

got 3 but my main one and my pride is my 75 reef tank

I had two before I moved out of my ex's place. But I can't keep them here. One had 4 red ear sliders in it. I miss my babies terribly. The other was filled with different guppies and swordtails. Mainly they were used for turtle food, but they were nice to have. I'll probably get them back when I move out of this place and into my new one.
