Ugh, don't get me started.

lol, btw, hand, hagd, ty, tyvm, yvw, yw, imho, otoh, wtg.....

grrrrrrrr......can't stand it.

Its a bit lame isn't it? I always get the impression that I am really chatting with a 13yr old.

I agree - .... I hate it. We have vowels and consonants for a reason

So how r u 2in? :D

Halo :rose:

That should be

"Get it 2gether ppl."

:D

I am with you, Max. Type a complete thought, word or sentence, then, perhaps you will catch my interest?

Egg-zactly. I learned the Queen's English for a reason! To be able to communicate with people.

IMHO why the hell should I need to learn a whole new language to be able to speak to people who already speak the language I speak?

Huh?

Well, you people are going to hate me, then. :D

I use "BTW" and "LOL" mainly....and according to Alexandraaah I "<G>" far too often.

It's a bad habit. But....I'll take my shortcomings anyday over the people who use:

"Sup" as a greeting has always bothered me. Or the letter "Z" in words were never intended to be written that way: "Boyz" "Cuz" and things of that nature.

I guess we all develop our own quirks. Some more irritating than others.

:D
V~

Isn't this just chat short hand? It's hard to keep up in a Real time convo, when you're in a large chat room....

I use LoL, Btw, GL, and this damn ;0) way too much.

I swore off chat rooms long ago, they drive me mad.

I don't mind "lol" or "btw" or ":)'s" or "*g*" at all. It's when you use one or two letters to spell out a word that I have a hard time reading. Acronyms and symbols are different from abbreviated words to me. You see an acronym, "lol", and you don't have to figure out what it's trying to say because you're used to the formation of the "word".

"How r u?" Annoys me because it makes me stop and figure out what the writer is saying. We're taught (at least I hope they're still teaching this way in school), that "How are you?" is the proper form. To see the abbreviated "r u" bothers me no end. It's as if the writer was too lazy to fill out the rest of the letters.

If I see more than a couple of words not spelled out in a sentence or paragraph, I don't even bother reading it. If he's not intelligent enough to write in plain English, I can't be bothered reading it.

This is my biggest pet peeve about chatting online. You get this shit from people who are supposedly intelligent. Call it stupidity or laziness but it sure as hell doesn't impress me! Those damn faces bug me too. The ones with letters in the middle and asterisks.

dumb looking shit if you ask me!

I said it in a different thread, if they can't use the keyboard, then I don't want to type with them. I do use LOL because it defines that I found what they are saying as humorous. Other than that, there are many literate and keyboard savvy people with whom to spend my time.

Toy r Us really pisses me off, too. What were they thinking of?
