I have to write sample objectives to a goal given to me by my professor. I am so sure that my objectives are wrong. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who has experience writing IEPs that can take a look at what I have.

I have some, but not a lot of experience with them.

Feel free to pm or e-mail em to me and i'll do what i can. Give me all the info that the professor gave you, the description of the student, etc.

All he gave us was the goal and we have to write the objectives. I have the objectives but I don't know if they are okay and he is so over critical.

Send them to me. I'll be happy to look at them for you.

I'd also include a paragraph in anything you turn in that IEP's are individualized and without a complete description of the student, including disability and learning characteristics, goals and objectives cannot be adequately written. Goals and objectives will vary greatly depending on the student's particular disabilty, learning characteristics, social skills, and relationship with the teacher. IEP's are definitely NOT one size fits all.

If you need any more help, I'm here. I have lots and lots of experience writing the damn things.

One pointer: make sure you include what part of the school day you are going to implement the objective, and what % = mastery.

Ex:

Goal: ________ will improve his handwriting skills.

Objective: During journal time, _____ will be able to write, in 5 minutes, the heading correctly on his paper 80% of the time.
