If so what's one of your prized albums?

For me its probably my copies of darkside of the moon and texas flood. Both in excellent condition.

Acoustic single-sided 78rpm records of Opera Singers pressed before 1900 such as Dame Nellie Melba, Terrazini, Chaliapin.

78rpm records of 1950s skiffle groups.

Beatles Albums.

I have the original Lynard Skynyrd Street Survivors album.

Green bitches.

I think I have that as well. My cousin gave me a shitload of records when he moved. I know there's a few skynard in there but don't remember off the top of my head.

I may buy a victrola off my uncle with all the wax records he has with it. 100 bucks is a steal, just don't know where to put it. The guy I was buying from yesterday had a vietnam copy of one of the beatles albums. Wanted 300 for it.

On another note, is 40 too much for a copy of the wall with poster or should I jump on that shit?

Have a bunch of vinyl records but no record player to play it on yet, alas. I have some records by Buffalo Springfield, Procol Harum, Donovan, Francoise Hardy, Jacques Brel, and Johnny Cash.

I own something like 500 records, not including 45's. Got six more arriving this week. My taste in music is all over the map. How do you pick out a favorite child? When I'm not feeling so lazy maybe I'll post the names of my 300 favorites. Oh yeah, can't do that until I give someone else a list of my top ten. Oh well.

I was at Tower Records in LA back in the late 70s and bought what I thought was a new single by the Rolling Stones (there was a display at the checkout, a true impulse buy). I think I paid $1.50 for it.

It was a rare Keith Richards solo single ("Harder They Come" cover). I like Keef and I liked the song, but I didn't like his version. Sold it for something like $15 ten years later. Just looked it up in a price guide and 35 years later it commands $20 so I think I sold at a good time.

I have a collection of punk stuff that's less valuable now than when I bought it.

I have a friend who blurted once that he had a non bootlegged copy of Princes Black Album.

I collected records for years. I had many thousands at one point. I got rid of a bunch during a move, then made a stupid storage mistake in a rental house that ruined some others. I still have a few hundred--some old blues sides that aren't available on CD, some that seem more "of their time" in their original vinyl pressing than they would on a CD or file, some that are just meant to be records, even if they sound better digital.

Prized would have to be a White Album and an Abbey Road both signed by McCartney, one made out to me and one to my son. Now that we have two kids, I'm going to have some explaining to do some day as to why brother got one and sister didn't.

If you want a fairly decent, reasonably priced turntable pm me for the web address.

Ya I can understand that. My collection is maybe 100 at most. My uncle has a an early recording of ghost riders in the sky. Eerie as hell. Ive got one of them zenith coffee table sized radio/ turntable deals. 25 bucks at an estate sale.

I wish I could find some 30s era delta blues on wax. Original elmore james or bobby johnson.
