I think it depends a bit...plot and characters can make on-screen sex a bit more erotic and real. But if not done well, they just get in the way.

I've kind of liked the 'Private' video series out of Europe--the 'actors' seem much more real, but you can just turn the volume down to avoid the really bad dialogue and poor dubbing and just enjoy the fucking, to put it bluntly.

Thats a real pet peeve of mine...I love a lot of dirty talk...but I absolutely hate it when the dubbing is awful and they just play the same tracks over and over again.
