Any other recovering cybersex addicts on here?

First I just want to clarify that I intend no judgement toward the many people on here who love to cyber recreationally and do so often. Y'all should do what makes you happy.

I'm just wondering if there are others on here who need to *avoid* cyber chat/roleplay because it becomes like an addiction and impacts your life in unhealthy ways... e.g. neglecting your job/marriage; elevated blood pressure from the stress of keeping a time-consuming secret habit from your family; etc.

It's highly unusual for me to post something so personal/vulnerable on a forum (rather than over email/PMs), but there it is - fire away.

Having an addictive personality, I would say this is a very DANGEROUS question to be asked by someone trying to avoid cybersex. Playing the devil's advocate, I see this more as a cunning way to find someone else who is addicted, while under the guise of "trying to help," it is REALY just way to find someone to with which to share your addiction.

I feel this would only truly work in a real life group setting with some type of "sponsor" or counselor there to oversee and advise...

Oy, that's a good point. Speaking for myself, this was legitimately me tentatively reaching out for support, but yeah, I guess I should should be careful about any responses I get.

I wouldn't say addicted, however, I go through phases of looking for people to chat to etc, current going through one of those phases now 🤔
