I'm writing a romance story and would appreciate some assistance with cultural insight. Preferably female, desirable an author but not essential.

Thanks

Trying again

no luck with Chloe. But it did motivate me to read her work which I enjoyed.

So looking for a cursory look and advice.

Ideally, ideally a 20 something female Chinese author with some English skills.

But at this stage I'd take advice from anyone who fits any of those criteria. Lol.

Story is about 2/3 written. It's sensitive and respectful (i think). But need that cultural/female opinion if possible.

I can't help, but might be worth specifying what kind of Chinese. China's a big country with a lot of different groups and languages, even before getting into the diaspora.

Thanks for your thoughts, I hadn't thought about that. But I am open to tailoring the story if my hoped for advisor has preferences. Lol

I find it hard to believe that someone who calls himself/herself Waratah, the floral emblem of NSW, a state which contains half a million Chinese the major proportion of which are young cannot find out for yourself.

In fact at 5.6% of all Australians by Ancestry + 150,000 temporary students it's pretty hard not to know a few Chinese. Almost 3 times as many as Aboriginal Australians.

Apologies in advance if I am just being a cynical old sod. :)

I know plenty of Australians of Chinese extraction, but none that I'd be comfortable going to for advice about an erotic romance story.

Tried with two acquaintances. No luck prolly 95% of the real world think erotic writers are weird. Not going to risk that any more.

If no luck with advice I'll just publish and be damned.
