There are two choices for the back cover blurb for Volume 2 of the Anthology. Which do you like? They can be edited, so don't worry about typos, etc when you vote. And everyone can vote, not just people in the anthology. Which would encourage you to read the book more? Thanks!!

Choice 1:
By definition, a cocktail is a drink that is served usually at a gathering or party. It is something that is associated with a cozy, usually intimate, informal affair. A host of talented writers has offered up a bevy of different cocktails for your delight and consumption. They are both intimate, cozy and certainly a tasty delight to wet both your palate as well as your imagination.

So come in, sit down, and be prepared to be entertained. Enjoy your cocktail.

Many Feathers, (aka Thesandman)

Choice 2:
Those of you who are familiar with the first volume will love this. Those who aren’t, hold on to your hats it’s a wild, wild read.

Expect complete arousal of the mind, body and spirit as this compilation of poems and prose spanning across the, ever widening, genre of erotica, takes you from the pertinently moving three line poem Gloss to the short novella sized Spirit of Frankenstein a touching, almost abhorrent, yet strangely understandable, look into the loss of a spouse. Take the rough and tumble journey through public humiliation and enjoy the excited sweetness of the first time in Be Gentle with her. Feel the despair of a mother struggling to be seen as a woman and chuckle at the satirical humor in Dr Bob and his dildo. how a couple keeps their sex alive and how good friends can become much, much more. The horny sweetness of lesbian love, contrasting with the heart pounding suspense of erotic horror. A honeymoon affair may make you look at more mature couples in a new light! All this interspersed with very rousing poetry gives the reader, many contrasts but a common theme, sexual enjoyment.

Coming together, volume 2, touches the senses and inspires emotions and will keep you lusting after more. When you put it down, you will pick it back up again. And again.

I already gave my preference for the second one, because it has a bit more body.

The one from The Sandman should have his writerly accomplishments added. He gave them in the original thread a few posts down, I think.

:D

The second quote is wordy and hard to follow.
The first is concise and clean.

I like the flow of the second one better. The first is more clean though.

I prefer the first one, after it has been edited to correct for typos, etc. The second would encourage me to read allright but it  seems to be duplicating the introduction.

IMO, the back cover blurb should NOT mention any stories or poems by title. I think its unfair to the authors/poets who are not mentioned.

Imp, I was gonna send you the versions of the cover for volume 2, but just realised I can't, until I've altered the back cover and taken off the old blurb and put on the new. As soon as it's decided which one will be used, I'll do just that, then send it over.

Lou :rose:

P.S. Apologies again for being awol...

Can you send me the files with a BLANK back cover?

I bought the damned software -- I just don't know how to use it yet.

CD label, too. *sigh* My learning curve's pretty flat at the moment. Brain jam.

I agree with Imp.

Quote 2 for me, but the punctuation needs some looking at. And the first sentence is way too long. Needs pruning.

Mat's two-haporth.

Volume 1's blurb was 156 words (including signature) and fit on the back cover beautifully.

Blurb 1 is only 85 words. Blurb 2 is 232. IMO, neither will fit well. I offer the following (at 141 words). It's generic enough that it can be used for any volume.

Grab a cold one, kick off your shoes, sit back, and prepare to be satisfied. Coming Together will slake your thirst for the erotic. From the original illustrations to the savory poetry to the stirring prose, you’re sure to delight in the many fine flavors of this cocktail. Take a sip of the succulent, swirl the sweetness around on your tongue, slam it home with a hardcore chaser, then come back for another round. It’s a heady mix of intoxicating spirits, but without the hangover!

And the cherry on top? All proceeds from the sale of this series go to organizations which work to protect your freedom of speech! You'll not find a more “satisfying” way to protect your civil liberties than by chillin' with the hottest erotic cocktail in print.

This kills choice 1 for me:

"By definition, a cocktail is a drink that is served usually at a gathering or party...."

I like #2, out of the three choices here (imp supplied another).
I like how #2 teases you into wanting to read more.

I'm not in Volume 2 but I think this one is the best, imp. Your 141 words - Blurb #3 - by Alessia Brio.

The blurb is supposed to draw reader interest with naughty tidbits of information. But it shouldn't discuss specific details of authors or works.

Damn. I had almost made up my mind.

Now I'm all confuzzled again. If I blow a fuse, somebody's gonna get sued. ;)

I voted for the second blurb earlier but now I think I prefer the third choice. However, the "cherry on top" would refer to a sundae, not a cocktail. Maybe describe it as "the cherry that floats on top".

I'd certainly love to help you blow your fuse.

DAMN!

Is there a way to take back a vote?

Imp, I like your piece bestest. :D

I apologize for not writing it before the poll was posted. *sigh* (I get quite bitchy when other people do that kinda shit.)

Well, should I create another poll ... or save Alessia's blurb for v3?

As an impartial observer (sort of) it would probably be best to do another poll using all three blurbs. Winner take all.

My thoughts, anyway.
