Another Voting Question

I have noticed that once a story gets about 50 votes or so, particularly if the scores arer extremely high, that the average will take a prcipitous drop over the next ten votes or so and then start climbing again. This pattern has been rerpeated on many of my stories. Are there people who, when the see a story that is doing extremely well (in the 4.6 - 4.7 range) purposely put in low votes. Does the system throw out extreme patterns (story receives all 4's and 5's, then several 1's). Just curious. Actually, this average thing becomes too much of a hang-up sometimes. I just want people to read my stories and enjoy.

But remember, you might get some malicious 1's, but then odds are you might get some unrealistic 5s too.
