After the mysterious doomsday event wiped out nearly all life on Earth and transformed the entire planet into a barren post-apocalyptic hellhole, how many people (globally) do you think survived this cataclysm?

The current world population is just above 7,000,000,000

I'm guessing that after "the road" happened, that number was reduced to maybe +/- 300,000.

The world would become so barren and devoid of humanity, you could spend an entire year looking and never encounter a single human being.

With those numbers and the conditions depicted in the road, do you think the human race would be at risk for literal extinction?
