Does your religion require you to do anything beside believe?

Do you have to share, tell others, get baptized, drink wine eat bread, abstain, sacrament, cerimony, ritual for your religion inorder to keep with its requirements?

If yes, how and when do you know if you have done enough?

I'll be ther first nope, nothing besides believe, sit on my butt and don't have to do anything.

Interesting question, Todd. Do you have to do anything other than believe? No. Does the church expect you to do anything other than believe? You betcha.

so does that mean your saying the church you go to has the final say in your salvation?

or

d are you responsible for yourself?

I guess you wont be getting the 30 virgins when you die, Todd.

No, salvation is an individual thing. BUT, there are certain expectations after the salvation. I can't remember the exact quote, but something about the fruit of the tree.

I could not go to any church that required "confession" to anyone other than God.

There are expectations but are they requirements ;)

No, they aren't requirements.

And now, I'm not talking about religion anymore. I had nightmares last night about a former pastor. Somebody get me talking about something else.

Someone voted yes, and didn't answer the question how and when do you know if its enough :(:(:(

Sorry about the bad dream MG

Yes, Todd besides the usual and practicing faith on a daily bases in all things (well, i do what i can) for some reason i still don't understand i was CALLED to be baptised. Now i know you should decide to do this on your own. i would have did it someday.

i got tired of resisting both physicaly and mentally one day and turned into the church parking lot that i was being (i'm not sure what word to use here) into.

I went inside and told my story to the pastor. to my amazement he did not throw me out. after about an hour and a half of answering his questions he said that although i was not a member of the church he was waving the church's requirements and he would baptise me the next sunday. he said that under the circumstances that it seemed to him the right thing to do.

i felt like i was in no position to disagree.

i still worry about it somtimies.
