But I've got you all beat. I take care of all the neighborhood strays, including taking them to the vet when they're sick as well as feeding them. I don't make money on this, instead it costs me money. I guess you could say I get paid in purrs and ankle-rubbings.

*cringes, thinking about what Holly would say about this* I hope that some of the vet visits include fixing them so that there are fewer new ones ...

Holly works at a wildlife rehabilitation center as a volunteer. This year alone, she has been gnawed on by baby raccoons, bitten by a vulture, scratched by various squirrels and oppossums, and kicked by at least 5 baby deer ... Giving them vaccinations, giving them medicine if they need it, tube feeding them if they need that, changing dressings on wounds ... she often comes home almost as wounded as the rahabbing animals...

Wow, that all sounds so rewarding. How do you get involved with that kind of thing?
Before I had kids I used to spend a night a week at a homeless shelter. Now that my oldest is old enough to know not to leave with a stranger, I'm going to start again, taking her with me. I think it's important for children to realize how blessed they are. And hubby agreed to keep the little ones. (Frankly, they'll leave with anyone who offers them candy.)

Hmmm. Now that you mention it, Graham is taking a course on holistic therapy, including massage and aromatherapy.

Oh, that's way cool. I'm really into massage, especially reflexology. There are so many important pressure points in the hands and feet. Sometimes a foot rub does more for my hubby than a whole body rub.

I've had over 5 cats fixed/spayed this year. I can't afford to get them all though, and some I just can't catch.

*whew* I know that it's expensive ... but in the long run, it's more expensive to let them keep breeding if you're the only one feeding them. Yay for you :)

congrats. Just think if each of those cats have, or get another cat preggo with, at least 4 kittens a litter, at what 3 or 4 litters a year, you just cut back on 60 - 80 kittens just this year. And the year is young.

I have recently began exploring world of BD/SM in real time. Have always been interested in finding the many sides of me that i have kept tucked away for so long. I am finding while meeting many in my local area, that alot are in the medical field in one capacity or another. I myself am a CMA and i currently work in the ER. While i dont have direct patient contact anymore, i have to be very much in control of things and able to delegate fairly. When i can allow myself to give up that control it is a wonderful thing. I am also a full time single mom of 3 children.
So does this all count?
~giggles~ besides that i have discovered that i have a masochistic side as well...~laughs~ who knew?

I was a farmer's wife, I raised two children and countless animals :) I've worked as a teacher aide and librarian in a small rural school (5-11 year olds).

Now I am full time carer for my Master who has renal failure and diabetes. He takes care of me, and I serve Him.....it works for us :)
