Some people who voted against moderating this forum have said they are now sorry they voted that way.

I think the question of moderation of this forum for writers of porn and erotica ought to be revoted sometime this year.

We should try like they do at Absolute Write. They have a moderated forum specifically for politics and current events.

Although there are still a fair number of trolls there the venom they spew is kept to a tolerable level. The mods are very fair and strict.

I do have a cause though. It is obscenity. I'm for it. Unfortunately the civil liberties types who are fighting this issue have to fight it owing to the nature of the laws as a matter of freedom of speech and stifling of free expression and so on but we know what's really involved: dirty books are fun. That's all there is to it. But you can't get up in a court and say that I suppose. It's simply a matter of freedom of pleasure, a right which is not guaranteed by the Constitution unfortunately. Add a political forum for those that need to rant and rave. Laurel can appoint someone to make the moves or do it like she does now for the threads that should be on the GB or somewhere else.

The answer, of course, is to password the AH for only current Lit. authors--ones with a regular stream of story contributions to the Literotica story file at least every couple of months. And then let them discuss whatever they want--which quite likely would bring writerly threads back into some sort of balance with other "encountered in life" topics and would weed out the misfits who are only here because every other forum has bounced their irritatingly dogmatic, juvenile, and nasty asses.

Let everyone else converse on the other boards.

You've had that piece of software for ages which you can censor your own view but what you really want Stella is to censor everyone else.

Having said that, however, you obviously haven't worked it out that you have in one sense already won. Ever since you started getting threads moved to the General Board, the number of posts on the AH has fallen steadily. A couple of years back you had to get onto the second page before you could find a "yesterdays post." Now there is usually 3 days posts on the first page and sometimes 4. The AH used to have about 30% of the activity of the GB and was one of the more popular Boards. Since you have been campaigning its been overtaken by both GLBT and BDSM.

The AH is going the same way as the other authorly Boards, ie. Story feedback and Editors etc, it's dying. If you had a bit more imagination Stella you might try to combine those three Boards into one because one undeniable fact of the internet is that when traffic falls off, it doesn't come back without drastic action.

Another board I post to gave a KILL button to posters. Press the button 3 times and the offending post goes away. Its very popular. Reminds me of an old Simpsons episode where a shrink gave each Simpson a Taser to play with.

Actually, you are right but for the wrong reason. yes, the Ah is dying but the reason has nothing to do with Stella or threads getting moved to the GB. It has to do with all the arguing and asshats that have run the good people off. To many political threads where you can't find anything else and trolls like the idiot above me. those are the reason we have lost good people.
