I'm swell. For some reason I feel pushed to mention how close I came to taking out the kayak today...and how very far from doing so I ended the day.

I learned something tonight I thought was incredible: when the first European explorers came to the Grand Canyon and looked over the edge they thought the Colorado river was only 6 feet wide. They sent a couple of guys down who, upon their return, reported that the canyon was a lot deeper than it looked.

Somehow I'm hoping this is as a result of a sort of ebb and flow. I've been riding my bike an average of thousands of miles a year since I was 11, but there have been some years where I only rode hundreds. Those were still good years in that they motivate for the next.

Yeah, there's been a pile of stuff that needs to be done......I've put my wants on hold......i have rode several hundred miles on the bike, though....

I ride an old DBR V-Link. It's a dandy xc bike. It gets me where I need to go.

yeah, the 4 bar rear works pretty well.......I've got to find some XT 8-speed shifters for it.......they are worn out......
