Another day at the bird feeder

Good to know there is at least one other person here who (I think) enjoys little feathered creatures.

I'm a huge critter feeder,get all sorts of birds,squirrels,rabbits,chipmunks.

Other things slip in at night.

Did anybody see any interesting birds over the weekend? I spotted an Indigo Bunting and it was singing its heart out!

None for me just the usual N Carolina types but I did see a cooper hawk circling around the feeder looking for a meal.I been putting out more peanuts lately and that has made an uptick in critter visitors.

Just got back from a nice walk this morning here in SC. I enjoy the very early walks the most because it’s quiet and hardly anyone is out yet. Saw bluebirds, Carolina wrens and chickadees, a great blue heron, fish crows, red shoulder hawks, robins, and more!

Serendipity has struck. I bought a flowering plant from the garden center and placed it on a Shepards pole outside my kitchen window. Then yesterday, while eating breakfast and looking out the window, a pair of perky Carolina wrens were going in and out of of and decided to build a nest in it. At this point it looks like a little tunnel. They were both going at it for quite a long time. I hope they decide to rent it out and raise a family that I can watch over the next several weeks.

The hummingbirds are hitting it hard. They might be my favorite thing right now. :)

Thete's this little green guy and a larger greenish grey brown guy that picks on the little guy. :)
We only have our Anna's left now. I think we have about 6 of them vying for residency.

Are you East, or West of the Rockies?

The mid west. Had one of the ruby guys this spring but I got tired of filling 4 feeders with no birds all summer. :)

I think it would drive me crazy not having resident hummingbirds year round. How long is your migratory window?

Our Anna's over winter so the battles continue year round.

They are feeding every half hour or so. Must be close to leaving time. :)
