I feel the need to express my profound sympathy for the "anonymous" vermin scuttling about this website intending to morally undermine writers who are offering their best efforts. Of course they're anonymous. That is the platform from which insecure and hateful people can best feel that they have legitimacy, and that their comments have actual meaning for anyone. Should they actually poke their sorry heads out of their moldering warrens and engage in discussion, we would see their abject impotence. Yes - and this analogy is appropriate to the website - their lack of spine, and their lack of any ethical foundation is the equivalent of a scrawny, withered, perpetually unresponsive penis.

Would it make you feel better if they insulted you while wearing their idea of a clever nickname? An insult is an insult, no matter if Anonymous or MrSteelyDick had spouted it. Not much you can do about it either way.

Some of the Anon brigade, of whom I am one, just make an appropriate comment in an attempt to give a view. If it's good, I'll say so. If it ain't I generally shut up.
:)

That's why I never understood vanity plates. Especially with the way I drive. I much prefer "asshole" to the more personal "Hey MCK you asshole!"

Funny. That's what I usually mutter when i see vanity plates.

I admit to having one for my still as yet unfinished Nova SS.

The wife is a little annoyed I pay $60 for plates for a car that was driven three times last summer

Of course if you have nothing to be vain about, you wouldn't want to bother with vanity plates.

What year? I make exceptions for classic cars.

1972 right now it has a 350 rocket in it, but have a 380 lined up for it. 4 speed trannie, and right now a shade of lovely primer black that pisses my wife off, especially when I tell her painting it is the last thing I'll do to it.

The 350 was a fast engine. The 380 can't be stock right? Chevy ran the 396 (I think Pontiac had a 400), the 427 if I remember correctly, and the 454 beast. Did Buick or Oldsmobile run a 380?

I stopped following them, so I have no idea what came out later.

Nice. I miss the muscle car era.

Olds. The 396 is a tough bird and a friend has the 380.

This is my second one. I was lucky enough to come across one with the 396 back in the early 2000's (body was beat to hell, but the motor made it worth it) but it came down to a toy or putting everything I had into opening a business so I sold it. Bought this one four years ago, but haven't put a lot into yet.

It was really nice that you could actually work on those engines too. Well, the big blocks could pose challenges, but you didn't have to deal with the pile of crap you find under the hood today.

Good luck with it!

Dear? This is IRL. No more plastic trophies for signing up and paying the fee. And stop bad mouthing my penis.

Totally understandable. But do know that you can shut off anonymous commenting on your stories here:
http://www.literotica.com/members/main_options.php

You can also delete any comments you like from your stories. The comment board on your stories is your space.

Some authors never delete anything. Others turn off Anon comments and remove all troll comments. Writers seek different things from posting at Lit, so we allow you the freedom to choose.

The state of Illinois is bankrupt. The last thing I'd do is give them extra money for a vanity plate.

I had a problem with racist comment a year or so back. I deleted them then more came accusing me of not being able to take criticism. I responded with the following comment.

Dear anonymous racist.
It takes me 2 seconds to delete your posts. Given your obvious difficulties with language, that must be a lot less than it takes you to write them. Until you learn to express yourself without using racist comments as punctuation, all your posts will go the same way as the others.

That particular problem ceased.

If you don't like what people say just delete them. As I said to my troll, it takes two seconds. Leaving them just allows said troll to get him/her self off looking at their own words on screen and seeing what a hornet's nest they've stirred up.

I had one today calling me, and I quote, "a pathetic dickless waste of skin". Personally, I feel that I have provided a service to this person who has been able to vent anonymously instead of, say, getting all road-ragey on someone. Unless they are more generally offensive about race, gender, age, etc I'm prepared to laugh it off. After all, this is the internet, home to malcontents, haters, and general all-round misfits. I'd prefer them to be spending their time being all angry and unhappy here than taking it out into the real world and perhaps doing some real damage.

And in my (very limited) experience here, the positive comments more than make up for the negative. What I would suggest is taking the time to reply to positive comments and say nice things to the posters who left them.

Ooh... "information highway road rage". I like it!
