Happy Anniversary to both of you.

I wish you many, many more anniversaries, no matter how you count them.

You can, of course, celebrate the anniversaries of your first contact, your first actual meeting, the proposal, the engagement party, etc.

Even after 30+ years I can remember and celebrate all those even if I'm a bit shaky on the actual dates of some of them. I know which month they're in so I never miss them, but the day? Sometimes I'm a day out but as I'm always early I get forgiven. The shared memories are more important than the dates.

Next year you can celebrate the anniversary of your first anniversary, a day earlier than the actual second anniversary, and have two parties.

Unfortunately we both had to work on the day we'd have loved spending snuggled together, but, we did get to spend time together we don't normally have - I gave Min a lift into town where she was being collected for work, and this gave her time to treat herself to a McD sausage and egg McMuffin breakfast. Such simple pleasures.

After work, I also dropped into town to attend to some chores, bought her a copy of the Highway Code to prepare for driving in UK, two large bunches of flowers which now are adorning the sitting room with colour and elegance, some profiteroles for us both, and when I got home was met with the longest, hardest hug and kiss in the world. *sigh*. She handed me a piece of paper on which she had written some of the most moving, beautiful words in the world, and I will carry it with me wherever I go. God, I so love this woman.

We ordered a Chinese meal for our anniversary supper, gorged on the profiteroles, washed it all down with a long overdue SoCo and coke and spent the evening together on the couch, watching crap tv, and fielding a multitude of phone calls.

All in all, the day was good.

Oh, and this morning......I've put on a pound (it's weigh in day), but I don't care, it was worth it.
