I saw this headline "Seekers of alien life gather for SETIcon" and was interested, but then I noticed:

Coulter to headline GOP 'Homocon'

and I was revolted, I mean, who is she to even suggest rational people agree with her?

Conservative pundit and unlikely gay ally Ann Coulter is set to headline the first annual Homocon, "a party to celebrate gay conservatives" put on by GOProud, the "only national organization representing gay conservatives." The festivities are scheduled to take place in New York City on September 25.

Homopublicans?
:D

Please--- a moratorium on political threads for a while? Right wing or left wing, this stuff is available everywhere else on the internet.

Beginning with your Avatar, everything you say, write, pontificate, is inherently political, but since it is your political view, then you think it is appropriate.

You are so one-sided I wonder how you walk...wheelchair?

So what? So there are gay republicans. There are straight dems, too. Whoopee. I'm with everyone else. Hold off on the politics. That's why this place is turning to crap.

There must be money involved.

Thanks Slick Tony, I didn't mean it as a political statement, just thought that "Homopublicans" was very strange, and a Homo-Con might be interesting for the folks here.

How about one of those Celebrity stories, "Newt, meets his Master", :D,

or Left Wing Reporter, infiltrates the Lesbian wing of the Homopublicans and switches sides! "Where Politics is Pussy!"

Stella, you only see the dark side, lighten up sweety.:cattail:

Thank you, sweety, that's very well-intentioned advice, I'm sure. I try to keep the dark side out of my face, sweety. That's why I'm not here so often anymore, sweety.

We've been talking about getting this forum back to its original purpose; as a blessed respite from politics, a place where we talk sex and connectedness, and the arts of the pen.

It's already on Huffington, where it will be viewed by thousands more people than will ever see it on AH. Let's leave it where it will do the most good, what do you say?

I'd like to see a survey of political threads on this forum, and a breakdown of how many were started by rabid liberals as compared to rabid conservatives. I'd guess (and it's only a guess) that the libs are leading by at least five to one.

I'd like to see that too. Because my guess is that you're wrong. I wouldn't mind seeing an objective study of that question--say, since the beginning of the year.

Until one is done, neither one of us has grounds for stating the "fact" of it.

I might agree with you if we only go back to the beginning of this year. I was thinking of the GWB era mostly. The libs have been kind of silent in the face of the Great Obama Debacle (tm).

Hardly surprising that you can't get out of some past era and deal with the present. :D

How does one tell the difference, please ?

Well why not start a writerly thread, instead of complaining? I mean if you want to discuss writing, do so, there are lots of opinionated writers here, and I include myself, although I'm not too good.:(

I put this here for the humor of it. I know, I'm weird but the thought of Coulter hosting a homosexual political rally makes me laugh.:):):)

Perhaps I should have put it in in the Humor thread?

And one more thing, a few days ago I started a Thread, "For Jessica", in it I linked what I thought was a powerful piece of writing. Only two people commented on it, Handley Page and Amicus. Both found it worth the their time to read the article.
I admit I was disappointed that it didn't take off, but I suppose real life scares a lot of people.

It wasn't the sparkly, golly gee! kind of story and it required some discipline to read, but it ended as beautifully as any I've ever read.

Two people agreed with me, but no one read it.

We get our our compassion from observing and evaluating others lives, and living through our own troubles. Understanding the other view points requires some work.

So while everyone talks about how horrible politics are, few explore human emotion and motivation on this thread, beyond a few sterotypical Incest vs Non-Con discussions.

Most of Litererotica is variations on 10-15 stories, told in varying ways and with varying degrees of skill. It keeps people occupied and happy.

Of course it is hard to take the interweb seriously, when you this drunk.:)
