Angelique, I've been somewhat incommunicado lately due to being out of town, weather problems getting home and the dagnabbit clicker on my laptop being stuck.
I have my fingers (and toes) crossed and said a few prayers. Keep us posted.
I had pneumonia several years ago and was in the hospital for nine days. I know how that goes. Anybody ever have that procedure where they stick the tube down your throat and into your lung? Terrible. Believe you me there are other things I would rather gag on.
My cousin had asthma since he was a toddler until his mid-teens when he "out-grew" it. He did the inhalers and made a few trips to the emergency room for the breathing machine or a shot of adrenaline. But it's very controllable if you're careful.
Anyway, all the best for you and son, Angelique.
