Buffy actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has rather surprisingly thrown her hat in the ring for the role of the next James Bond. The sleek and sexy vampire killing machine said, ''I want to see more women action stars. I don't see why James Bond has to be a man all the time. When Pierce Bronsan retires I'm going to be the next Bond.' Leaving aside the problems that a pint-sized American woman might have portraying a gruff, quintessentially British and very male - super-spy, it might be argued that Halle Berry has already made a pretty good play to take over the licence to kill.
