Yep we have another named storm here in Florida. Tropical Storm Barry is in the Gulf and giving Florida some much needed rain.

This makes the second one of this season. (Out of a predicted 17.) Hey if they all turn out like this one I won't complain.

On the other hand I was listening to a local radio station and people were calling in and complaining about the rain.

When people stop complaining is when you start worrying.

Rich people complain about the pressures of being rich... but I don't see any of them volunteering to be poor.

My cousin has a guinea pig named Barry. I can't begin to feel intimidated by anything named Barry.

My sister once dated a guy named Barry.

He got smart and left her. Then he got stupid and decided he was some kind of Ninja. He decided to prove it one night by sneaking ino an old ladies backyard just outside of Lubock Texas. I'm sure you can guess the outcome of that move.

Barry?

That would be the gentle, easy-listening tropical storm.

That modulates.

Nah that would be the gentle Tropical Storm out in the middle of the Gulf that is slowly heading towards North Western Florida and is giving us some much needed rain. (It is not forecast to strengthen, which is a good thing.)

Good thing, Cat.

I wish we could send you some rain from the plains states.

We're in flood watches and warnings again.

Hope this brings you the rain you need.

hehe, Now you're progressing from Choir Geek to Fag Hag... err... I mean Clay-mate!
;)

[eta] sorry if I offended anyone, that looks so much worse in text than it did in my brain. I was imagining it like Kathy Griffith would say it.

I was editing it even as you were posting. :rose:

Some tones just don't work in text.
Yes, it was catty, and uncivil, and all that...

But still, you set me up with a "Copacabana" reference, and expect me to resist? I'm just not that strong....

AUUGGGHHH!
Whether it's poetic justice or just tit-for-tat, I now have Barry Manilow songs in my head all night.

Thank you very much. :p

I thank the Almighty that I just don't know any Clay Aiken ditties.

I don't either, actually. Clay Aiken, I mean.

My roommate in college would always listen to Barry Manilow when she was depressed.

Which, in turn, would depress me.

I thank you but this will be fixed soon enough.

The only hardship for me is having to find the flashlight so I can find where I put my damned lighter.

It's pouring down here and I am doing the Happy (Rain) Dance. :D

We need this badly. Powers still on, though.

Thanks, Barry. (The storm I mean).

The entertainer is musical treacle.

You know, as much as I make fun of the man, he is a consummate professional.

And talented. In addition to his hits, he's written many, many popular commercial jingles.

But I agree with the sickening sweet style.

And glad you're getting the rain!

My first, my last, my everything.
And the answer to all my dreams.
You're my sun, my moon, my guiding star.
My kind of wonderful, that's what you are

I know there's only, only one like you.
There's no way, they could have made two
You're all I'm living for,
Your love I'll keep for evermore,
You're the first, you're the last, my everything.

In you I've found so many things
A love so new only you could bring
Can't you see if you,
You'll make me feel this way.
You're like a first morning dew on a brand new day.
I see so many way that I
can love you,Till the day I die.
You're my reality, yet I'm lost in a dream.
You're the first, the last, my everything
* Instrumental *

I know there's only, only one like you.
There's no way they could have made two.
Girl you're my reality
But I'm lost in a dream
You're the first, you're the last, my everything

I was thinking Barry Gibb -- co-author of some of the worst ear-worm disco hits of all time.

Barry Manilow I can tolerate, and Barry White is simply awesome. Neither is the type to represent something as annoying as a tropical storm, whereas the arch-BG of Disco is the perfect avatar for a annoying, wet, tropical storm.
