And so the stupidity begins

Today is day one of the Lobster Mini Season here in Florida. I am by choice avoiding the Dive Boats during this time.

The reason for this is I have seen too many damned fools in the water during this time. I got tired of rescuing people in one way or another because of their stupidity. People are so busy trying to catch that one more bug they ignore the rules of common sense and safety. I am tired of haveing my life put at risk by idiots.

Already we have reports of a diver drowning in the Keys. We also have a report, through the grapevine, of a diver who ran out of air in 80 feet of water and had to be buddy breathed by two other divers on his way to the surface. The reason he had run out of air? He went deeper than the others and was chasing bugs while ignoring his air gauge.

Where would idiots be without people to protect them from themselves?
Sad thing is, idiot who ran out of air will probably do exactly the same thing again.

Well, he'll be sorry if next time he ends up rushing to the surface and having his blood turn to Pepsi.

I take it you dive, yourself?

Yep, over ten years of getting wet. Five years in New England and over six years down here. Never had an injury but I have had some close calls from my own and others stupidity. (I learned the hard way that Sea Scissors are a great thing to have when entangled with monofilament line.)

You?
