Sometimes a sense of humor helps get one through those little problems in our day to day lives. You just have to know when to drop the bombs on people.
This morning the wife and I went out to start the job of painting the trailer. We started on the back room. As we were doing this we saw a crew of guys from the groundskeepers pull up in their truck. We noticed this when they ran over the corner of one of our flower beds and crushed it.
We watched as they went over to the trailer behind ours and started cutting back the brush and trees around it. Oh they did a lovely job, by the time they were done the brush was gone and the trees were mere sticks stripped of all branches and leaves. Everything was piled in the space between the trailers. The crew left, we thought for lunch.
A short time later we left as well, we had to visit an R.N. who is a friend of ours, (and the inspiration for one of my stories.) She is a patient in the hospital after an emergency surgery.
When we finally arrived back at home I looked out back. Sure enough the pile of brush was still there. When I walked up to the door I found a notice from the park stating that we had to clean up the brush. Say what? Off I go to the front office where I meet with the Park Manager.
I showed him the notice and he replied that because I had made the pile I had to bag it and get rid of it. I smiled and told him his own work crew had made the rather large pile but that I would love to get rid of it for them. I had several gallons of old gasoline in my storage area I needed to get rid of. Dump the gas over the pile and toss a match and both problems are solved. I wouldn't even need a permit for the burn. That got his attention, he knew I would do it. (I am after all the person who threatened to eat his neighbors dogs.)
Within half an hour the crew was back with their truck and a chipper. They chewed down the entire pile. When I pointed out the damage to the flower bed they had done earlier they wrote me out a check for the wood to repair it. They left soon after.
Damn and I was hoping for a nice little BonFire.
