I think I'll name one Charley and one Lilith. :eek:

I remember this one boyfriend I had a few years ago... the thing I liked about him was that whenever we were together, all the problems I had seemed like minor details that could be taken cared of later, when I felt like it - whereas small nice things, like cooking potatoes and tuna sauce for dinner, expanded into a huge nice thing. Time went slow, and we enjoyed being together, doing little everyday things, savouring the peaceful moments, indulging ourselves in easy conversations about everything and nothing.
I know the Chinese have a special word for this kind of quiet, glad harmony, but I'll always think of it as "the-feeling-I-got-when-I-was-cooking-potatoes-and-tuna-sauce-with-MD".

*inhale*

*exhale*

I need oxygen!!!!

Or a shag.

Whichever's easiest to come by.

'Scuse the pun.

:p

Flickapoo, that is one of the lovliest posts ever. I think the above quote would make a good title and story. P. :)

Relaxation night tonight for me and the wife. Tough day at work for both of us. For me it will start in about half an hour when I start cooking dinner. Marinated Beef stir fried with Slivered Thai Peppers in Sesame Oil. Served with fresh thin sliced Onions and Carrots on cold Lettuce with a very light Garlic, Balsamic Vinegar and Oil Sauce poured over it.
This will be followed by an hour of writing, sans Internet, which will be followed by the Hot Tub and a nice massage for my wife. (Nicely warmed Vanilla and Cinnamon Oil to be used thank you very much.) All of this to be followed by bed.

Do you need a concubine????

does this count as calm?

In those moments before sleep claims my thoughts,
Your face is all I see.

In those moments before consciousness claims my dreams
Your face is all I see.

In those moments in between
Your face sleeps with me.

Not really, but good friends who enjoy small things in life are always welcome to swing by and visit for an hour or a night. They are even more welcome if they happen to drag along one of my two vices, a good cigar, or a bottle of good Tequila.
B.T.W. I have recently added something to my wake up regimen. I have added an Oil Infuser? Which is loaded with Eucolyptus (sp) Oil. That along with fresh ground coffee always adds something to the morning.

Midnight.
Standing in the garden.
A quiet, peaceful English summer night.
Not a breath of wind.
The only sound, the tinkling of the waterfall into the pond.
Above me, the velvet night sky, bedecked with a generous sprinkling of stars.
Amongst them the occasional flickering coloured navigation lights of the planes flying off to who knows where.
For a few peaceful moments, smoking in the blissful silence, I allowed my mind to drift to the places I would like to go, where the planes could take me.
The perfect antidote to the busy-busy ethos of modern life.
It was as if time was standing still. Magical. Like another world.

Then,
as if on cue,
from the house next door, from an open window..........
.............
..........
someone belched loudly and flushed the toilet.
:eek:

I began to giggle helplessly, choking on my cigarette. :D
Perfect.
Ansolutely perfect.
That'll teach me to try and be meditative and thoughtful.

Little battery-operated engines?

Oh, sorry...this is the calming thread...

<deep breath>
<slow exhale while settling slowly into the couch>
<putting feet on ottoman>
<realize ottoman is across room at armchair>
<swear>
<open eyes and realize broke thread again>
<new deep breath>
<slow re-exhale while slinking deeper into couch>
<setting feet on edge of coffee table>
<smile contentedly, enjoying the candles and cooing doves>
<grin mischievously as certain thoughts begin to arise>
<try to shake off thoughts>
<giggle>
<swear>
<start again>

<wink>

Yes, Carrie, I missed it. I'll PM you.

I forgot all about this thread over the weekend, damn annoyed at myself now! But, I guess it means it was a calm one. ;)
