Derek owns his own financial firm, and he is doing quite well for himself. But he has noticed that his life at home, the one he used to dream about, the romance, the subtleties and fun has disappeared.
However, at the office Derek had noticed the amount of women he employed. He never took stock of that before. Of course, his firm had grown in size, from employing just a few assistants to now he has over twenty producers who are also doing very well for themselves. But there was one who had caught his eye.
Katie had started at Strong Financial about six months ago. She just recently graduated college and passed her necessary exams to trade securities. Like many of the women at Strong Financial, she had a great mind. Able to see trends in the market, able to give financial advice in terms that the common person could understand, but there was something special about her. She was dressed to the nines every day, of course that wasn't it, as professional dress was required at Strong Financial.
Derek wasn't sure what he saw in Katie, he just knew he liked what he saw, both professionally and maybe not so professionally as well.
Derek, not one for reaching out to his producers and making unsolicited comments, approached Katie and mentioned that he had noticed her, was pleased with her work thus far, and truly appreciated her professionalism that he had seen out of her thus far.
Katie smiled in return, saying Thank you........
