An issue of style versus getting an editor

Some writers have a hard time finding their voice. I get that. I've been through that myself. Then, suddenly, as if magically, your voice appears.

Yet, magic had nothing to do with finding your voice. Writing, writing, and writing allows that to naturally happen. As if pulling your guts out from your stomach, your voice emerges.

The best compliments are the biggest complaints with my writing. I repeat myself.

To me, it's a stylistic thing. To some it's annoying and to others they love how I allow them to see things from all sides by saying the same thing but in different ways.

Does anyone have certain styles that they have embraced that others love or hate?

One would think that if they don't love what you write and how you write that they'd read someone else instead of down voting you and/or leaving a derogatory comment.

I stand by my statement, drawn from the inference Freddie made in the thread title, that he shows a misunderstanding of what a real editor does. A real editor protects what Freddie says he wants--the preserving of a writing style.

Too bad if this concept is beyond your understanding, Nicole, and that you are festering from the criticism you've gotten (not just from me, although you've focused on me from the get go when you prematurely pulled a story from a contest because folks weren't giving you praise and six and a halfs) for jumping into this forum with two feet without understanding where you are and the context of this forum--and that just maybe you aren't the greatest writer in the world at the moment.

When I joined Literotica six months ago, who gave a snide and mean-spirited reply to my very first post if not sr71plt. How about saying "welcome to Literotica"? Oh no, not you!

And who has been running about bombing my stories with derogatory comments if not you, sr71plt. You're so damn predictable it's scary! Every time I've gotten on your tits, sure enough a 1-bomb or a nasty comment on one of my so far few stories, Anon or using one of your sock puppets.

I've tried to be polite to you but no more. You've labelled others trolls, but the fact is that YOU are Literotica's Number One and Undisputed Heavy Weight Troll, and one with a mountain-sized chip on his shoulder as well.

I know for a fact that you never piloted a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird and what's even worse than being a Pretend Pilot is that you're a Pretend Author as well. I've taken the trouble to read several of your latest stories and for someone with 901 entries, it's pretty disappointing reading with little or no depth to them. One would expect some development over the years but there's almost none in your case. I've read plenty of stories from people much younger than you who only have submitted a handful of stories who run circles around you when it comes to writing skills, so no wonder you are bitter and persecute those who possess something you patently and abjectly lack - talent.

And I absolutely LURVED that you didn't get the satire of "A Prank of Loki's". It's writing on a level you'd never get to even if you posted stories 1,000 years after your own demise. I'm sorry, but there it is.

Furthermore, it casts grave doubts on your claim of having been a pilot, let alone an elite pilot, as they undergo rigorous testing before even being selected for basic military pilot training, a series of tests designed to weed out the stupid, those psychologically unsuited and those who cannot objectively evaluate and interpret data.

Just as I am, she's sick and tired of that little, angry, gay man, Sr71plt, pretend pilot starting trouble by ruining my threads. He can't just participate without trying to start a fight.

He continues calling me Freddie, my brother's name, even though my name is Susan. I used to write under my brother's name when I wrote as BostonFictionWriter back in 2007 and 2008 and 8 years later the two biggest asshats on the board, an old gay man, calling himself Sr71plt, when he never flew a plane and TxRad, a lesbian dyke of a woman, named Rachel, from New Hampshire and not from Texas, who enjoys dressing as a man.

I give up. I can't win. All that I can continue to do is to fight the good fight and defend myself.
