I've been watching "The Fall" with Gillian Anderson. In the story, Gillian heads a group of detectives trying to catch a serial killer. The series follows the killer as closely as they do Gillian's group, to great effect.
As I'm watching, something is eating away at me. They show how the serial killer spends weeks planning each victim's demise, "accidentally" bumping into his victim to gather some personal information, documenting each step of the assault, drawing diagrams, detailing each torture, keeping a note book for each victim hidden above the ceiling in his home. Then on a specific day, he executes the plan to perfection.
I then realized what was eating away at me. I do the same thing with my play sessions!!! I spend weeks devising a scenario, meeting with my play partner to extract details through subtle comment or suggestion, with each torture and torment carefully documented in a Google document, one for each play session. Then when the day comes, I execute the plan with precision. One notable difference of course; my "victim" is remains alive, and quite satisfied mind you (he says with egotistical confidence).
Of course this parallel is obvious, but when seen through the eyes of the serial killer, planning it for real and not play, kind'a sends shivers up my spine... and... gives me some great ideas for my next session.

Anyone else out there have this same feeling or realization, even if just now?
