Consider we are recovering from a horrible addiction. One relapse, or two, or three, doesn't mean one can't continue the journey of recovery. Its never too late to begin...a second or third or fourth time.

I have mostly done so from the first day I arrived here. Not flawlessly - no one is perfect.

But I pretty much ignore anything that doesn't interest me. That includes most (not all) of Sparky's threads. All of KidRock's threads. Lots of Todd's threads. Threads about whose fart smells worse... etc etc. And, almost always, have ignored those I consider trolls.

(Let me point out that I would consider the matter of trolls as somewhat separate from voter fraud which should not be ignored... see the thread entitled "Reprisal: That" in the Author's hangout if you're interested - http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=30800)

I heartily agree with the sentiment here. Why would anyone waste their time on threads, subjects and people who don't interest them? Do you ignore "real life" trolls or do you invite them over for tea?

Those people who keep posting on and on about trolls, especially in threads started by trolls only perpetuate what they claim to despise. Which makes me come to the conclusion that they really don't despise it after all but find some kind of perverse enjoyment either in the trolling itself or in drawing attention to themselves by trying to prove how much more superior than the trolls they happen to be. And let me say this includes the great Bull God Dixon himself... whose intentions I think were good but like most all of us, got de-railed...

So the thing that is most hypocritical, in my opinion, is those people who go on and on about how terrible trolls are yet throw themselves into the fray. If you truly believe that - then ignore them. Otherwise do what you want - as you will anyway - but spare us the hypocricy.

Actually, on a personal level, it has succeeded. I have kept my promise since I made the vow yesterday to dump KR and the assholes (and any like them) and I am much more relaxed and stress free.

That and the large amount of sex on the threads I am in are making for one happy Isolde.

This is my theory: if we ignore every flamer and troll, they will go away. And when I say ignore, I mean abso-fucking-lute complete nonacknowledgement.

No flip retorts.

No witty name-calling.

No long-ass posts trying to rebutt. Trust me, they won't listen.

Not even a *yawn* in their direction.

What can these people do but talk to themselves if we give them no attention? Maybe they won't leave the board, but we will certainly have taken away their fun. Many of my favorite posters have left due to the recent animosity. It makes me sad, and I want them back. But they won't come back until this board is a safe, light-hearted, fun environment again. Please, join me in my crusade.

From this moment on, I refuse to even cast a glance in the direction of the flamers and the trolls. We can do it, if we do it together.
