Freude Schoene Goetterfunken
Tochter aus Elysium
Wir betreten feuertrunken
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum
Deine Zauber, binden wieder
Was die Mode streng geteilt
Alle Menschen werden Brueder
Wo dein sanfter Fluegel weilt.

I know Poland....

My great grandfather was in the occupation army that took Warsaw in 1915

My grandfather marched into Warsaw in 1939

We know Poland well...

I went there once. Very poor under the Communists, Should have listened to the Germans..

I have very good friends there. I've been 3 times and have noticed significant improvements each time. They are making strides in their economy and their politics. My reasons for going were to study their economics and foreign relations. They have done well considering how little money they have had and how repressed they were by communism. They did a beautiful job of rebuilding Warsaw as it was before the Germans demolished it during WWII. Tis a beautiful country, as is Germany! I enjoyed my visits to both countries very much.

I am sorry to report that my ancestors did not behave well in Poland.... They considered it part of Prussia...

My Grandfather did really bad things there. And in Bohemia and Jugoslavia

Now, however, Poland is in NATO and just hosted the War Ministers from Europe...To discuss the Iraq problem.

Poland is doing well :)

My father is full blooded Pollack. Cool. I wish I knew some language, though.
