Giovanni Dattalo was on top of the world as he and his wife arrived at the party. Thrown for him by several "business associates", it was a celebration of freedom...his freedom, to be specific. Long known in the city as the man in charge of much of the criminal enterprise, the darkly handsome man in his mid thirties had spent much of the past two years battling a murder charge that had provided him with many sleepless nights. If convicted, he would have faced life in prison despite an otherwise clean record.

Stepping into the room, Giovanni shook hands with the men putting on the party and introduced his wife to one of them that she had not met, but all the while his bright blue eyes were scanning the room. It was his attorney, the reason that this party was even happening, that he was looking for. He'd spent a lot of time over those two years with her, probably more than he had with his latest trophy wife, and had not yet had a chance to properly thank her for the hard work and long nights she had put into seeing that he remained a free man. This was something he fully intended to put right, beginning that night.

Mia was running late to the party but she didn't think Giovanni would even notice she wasn't there yet. She ran her hand through her long hair looking at herself in her review mirror before she got out of the car. She headed into the party. She thought about getting him off. It hadn't been easy at all but she made sure he got off. She knew all the right moves to get him off. She got a glass of wine from one of the waiter. She took a sip. She looked around trying to find Giovanni. She knew all about his work and it never really bothered her because she knew everything about his job. She had been his lawyer for quiet long time. They had always been pretty flirty together and she liked him but she would never act on her feelings because she was his lawyer and he was her client.

Just as he finished up the introductions and looked up again, Giovanni spotted her and his lips curled in a grin. Pointing out a couple of friends of his wife who were there...the wives of other business associates of his...allowed him to get free of her as she ran off to gossip with them. Taking a bit more time to make smalltalk with the men putting on the party, giving enough time for his wife Carol to get thoroughly engrossed in whatever the other hens were talking about, he then slipped off and began to make his way toward Mia. He had to stop here and there to accept congratulations, but he did his best to get clear each time rather quickly, until he finally reached her. "What, no line of men trying to hit on you? Did all the guys in here go blind or something?" he asked teasingly as he leaned in to kiss her cheek, which might normally be a rather chaste gesture. It lingered a bit longer than maybe it should have, though, and anyone looking closely enough would notice that his lips fell on her jaw rather than her cheek before he drew back to ask more seriously, "You're gonna take that time off like we talked about now, I hope? Surely you deserve it after everything you've done."

Mia spotted him across the room. She smiled at him and waved at him. She stroked her side watching him walk over to her. "Oh shut up Giovanni you know there's never really any line of men trying to hit on me because their to scared of my success and the fact that I'm lawyer to men like yourself." She smiled at him. He kissed her cheek and she felt his lips lingering just a bit to long but she shook it off. "Well you know I do have over clients who need me so I'm not sure about taking a break and you know I work a lot because my job is my life. I like working for you by the way and I'm glad I got you off. I wouldn't want see you behind bars. It'd be bad for my bank account if you were behind bars but also I would be sad seeing you behind bars. Why aren't you celebrating with your wife right now?" She asked looking at him as she ran her hand through her hair.

"I know, I know. Buncha pussies they are," Giovanni responded concerning the men being afraid of her success, "But now you're gonna make me feel guilty, if I'm helping to scare them away." His tone was teasing as he spoke, bright blue eyes full of mirth as this man, who had done so many things that people would consider wrong, spoke of being guilty for something that was not truly his fault at all. "Well, I am glad you got me out of it too, Mia, and I'm happy to keep your bank account from suffering, but you deserve something more for your hard work," he told her, then glanced over at his shoulder at mention of his wife. Shrugging as he turned back to her, he answered sounding unconcerned, "Eh, she's not into big parties like this. She's probably off in some side room already, gossiping with the hen circle."

"Yeah they are and I don't like pussies so I'm glad they stay away. Don't feel bad I'm glad men are scared away from me. I don't really have time for a man. I like a guy but its complicated because he's married and I don't know if he likes me." She said as she shuffled her feet she looked down at her feet hoping she wasn't be obvious that she liked him. She knew liking her client was wrong and he was married too. She looked back up at him when he started to talk about her getting off murder. "It did take a lot of work to get you out but I couldn't let my best client rot in jail. You pay me a hefty fee so what else do I deserve because I think I don't deserve anything else." When he glanced over at his wife her eyes followed his she looked at his wife. "Well I thought you'd be sneaking off alone to celebrate properly but seems your not." She smiled at him.
