an apology to the Poets

who have received an ugly comment in response to my comments on several poems. Everyone here knows I have had my share of problems but, I spilled my guts and my shame here in public, with my name attached.

I guess, beginning last night, I left a comment on Selena's new poem, "William Dreaming." It is a beautiful poem and I left a kind comment. I have been commenting a lot lately because I have been stuck at home unable to work.

However, someone signed in as anonymous posted this comment-

That comment wasn't for YOU cause you DON'T come in that list of stupids oops I mean poets. By the way, everyone feels that it's YOU the "famous anonymous" who's ranting & moaning. And, also YOU are not a "Guru" or "Royal we" so take a chill pill & keep quiet.

I did not leave ANY anonymous messages, please refer to the top paragraph. I humiliate myself with my name attached. But someone, and I am pretty sure I know who is doing it but that doesn't matter. What matters is that this anon is stinking up the comment sections of other people's poems.


He or she is saying that "everyone" attributes all anon comments to me and lest I protest too much.... it is NOT me. BY all that I love and find holy in this world, it is not me. I am not afraid to voice my opinion on poetry and I do not hide behind the title of anonymous. all of you here have been witness to my meltdowns and my heartbreaks know this just as well as anonymous does.

What it boils down to is, I too, have become the target of the hateful anon just as many of you in the Poetry forum has been in the past, but now, someone has decided since I am back, they can be cruel and petty and they figure everyone will blame me.

This person needs help and if anyone here can help "her" please do so. She won't be helped by blaming me for everything that is wrong on this site.

I will continue to comment on poems I wish to comment on and someone with a poison pen will not deter me. Some lonely person out there needs a shoulder to cry on and if he/she wishes to contact me, do so. PLEASE stop trashing other people's poems. My PM 's are enabled, you may contact me. Be decent and keep your trash off other people's poems, confront me, I am obviously the one you have a problem with.

PS, I am a "Literotica Guru." All it takes is 1000 posts and you can get that quickly with trash posts on silly threads. It basically means very little. I have more than 1000 posts on 2 of my screen names here. Normal Jean and Maria. But I confess, I have no idea what a "Royal we" is.

Please stop. I Know you are hurting and I am a good listener. You don't have to be hurting, there are many people here who would be willing to listen if I am not good enough.

Don't sweat it sweety. Whoever is doing this simply wants to make trouble at your expense. All you need to keep faith with is that you don't leave anonymous comments (and never have to the best of my knowledge). Anyway I am always suspect of anyone who claims to speak for some (another anonymous!) group, who always share some negative opinion about one person. I've been accused of being in a clique enough times to know this crap for what it is: meanness and shit stirring. The people here who care about poetry are here to write it and learn and be around others who feel the same. They don't give a crap about all that cliquey "WE don't like you" stuff.

Ignore it. Write poetry. It isn't worth your time, and my experience is that the anonymous blue meanies say much more about themselves than the people they try to slam.

I am confused, though, how people refer to anonymous as being A person.

I cannot imagine that it would be A person. Surely there are many people who sign anon here at lit and everywhere around the globe.

I got some pretty (hilariously) negative comments from a person who signed "anonymous " since I have been here, I never once thought that it was one person.

Just a generic tag.

I know it might be mean, but in many cases, I got a good chuckle over the nasty things they said about my stuff. Sometimes it was painfully true-- or at least true in an exaggerated way.

I hope you know that the people who care for you know it is not you.

I got hit with a very angry anonymous message a while ago in stories that claimed I had plagarized a story I had never even heard of. I think we have some trouble makers.

There's a new anon signing 'mancelt' after their comments in the same places the baby anon is talking at normaljean. I never thought the anon from a few weeks ago was NJ, I thought it was most likely one of three people that thought they were unloved and weeded out. This one usually does their thing after 'mancelt' and normalJ have both posted on a poem. Which would make you think 'mancelt' is returning to check any reaction to their initial comment, seeing normalJ and having at her. But then I saw the comments for RUBYslipper's poem:

Speaking of Selena_kitt... I liked her poem and alot of her older ones, I've only read one of her stories, a HowTo about Yoni massage(felt real weird about it) but alas, she has herself in her own "favorite" list so her cult of personality is lost to me.

I got a chance to read some poems yesterday and today, and even had a chance to comment (hiding from Hugo right now before he makes me paint the living room) and I read the William Dreaming poem. I started to comment but got distracted by the anon crap. Well, it happens every so often. Some silly troll uses comments for a place to bitch. I guess his/her poems were ignored or something.

I did an anon on one of my own a little while back as an experiment following a recent bit of friction pertaining to voting and the like. Other than that, I've always made a comment, rather than just voting. If the poet doesn't permit comments, then no vote from me either. I do wish it would be simpler to comment and not having to enter the code and preview, especially when I'm going the that days poems (if I have time). I noticed greenmountaneer's poem today doesn't have voting, just comments, but does have thermometers.

Well, I must say that the meanness that comes with honest criticism sometimes whips people to write better stories and poetry. But, don't fret, love. I am sure any comments you made have never been as burning by some.

Well...

Just so you know you're not alone. I write very few poems, only when the mood strikes me, for whatever reason. Mostly I write stories. But like I said on the occasion I do write a poem. Both of my very recent one's have had a couple of anon type feedbacks sent to me on them. One of which I am a bit suspicious about, but the attacks on what I write, how I write and why I wrote what I did had more meaning for me. I find it funny that someone can call you a "shitty" writer/poet, without explaining why it is they feel that way. Or why they can say you don't know how the hell to write, or that you've done so (wearing your emotions on your sleeve) as being just plain idiotic.

Sorry if you (anon) feel that way. Maybe that's why I don't write a lot of poems any more, at least when I write (most) of my stories, people tell me (truthfully?) why they didn't like something I wrote about.

Poems...to get upset over a persons thoughts, feelings, which most of the time are personal anyway, is beyond me.
