Amicus is a fucking idiot

Amicus, you seemed to have made too many enemies with your far-right wing political views. :D

Come, come. Judge the story, not the author's political views.

I was somewhat shocked, when I went to his bio page to realize that amicus was infact, a real breathing person.:)

It changed my outlook somewhat. Not like I'm his biggest fan now or anything. Just gave me some food for thought...

Well written, but it left me going "And..?" I hope he's writing more - to my mind that's only an introduction to sounds like it could be a vey interesting story.

The Earl

Wow, he's freakin' prolific. Good on you, Amicus for cranking out the work. I sure as hell can't get anything done. Your threads make my migraines come back, but I might just have to check out your stories.

OK, politics aside, it's not a bad opening. There's no story, as the Earl said.

There are signs of lack of literacy/education, in a few spots. When the author tries to sound well read or well informed.

Of course I could not resist looking...considering the name of the thread...Thank you CV...for the mention and the link, very kind of you.

If you have favorable comments on any portion of either Billy or the Chief, part one or two, both books have been submitted for publication and good comments are most helpful.

Thank you...

amicus...

(PS chapter two of Fireflies is nearly complete...)

Hey, Chilled Vodka, thanks to your mention of my latest story, I have the lowest rating of any of the 70 or so stories I have ever posted here....thanks to the trolls of the Authors Hangout, don't do me any more favors...thanks....amicus....

You have amicus all wrong, CV. I figured out long ago that his political writing is entirely satirical. If his politics are right-wing you couldn't tell it by the heartfelt speeches he gives at our ACLU chapter meetings. He and his life partner are active members of the Sierra Club and sit on the planning board of Miami's annual AIDS/HIV fund-raising event, the White Party.

I thought you, CV, of all people, would get the "right-wing nutcase" joke.

Smoove A is most fine.

...and it is probably obvious where at least one of the '1' votes came from...sighs....morals of a cat...

Story scores are irrelevent. You have a thread in your honor by a fellow author, a man of no small talent himself.

Sher, did you really? Cause if you did, I'm extraordinarily disappointed in you. I've crossed horns with amicus many times before, many times angrily especially concerning his comments about women, but there are things you don't do. You don't punish stories because of your opinion of the writer (that goes to all of the AH lurkers or to anyone else who punished or thought about punishing amy's story). I'd like to believe you wouldn't stoop to that. Tell me please that you wouldn't stoop to that.

-LC the concerned

P.S. A million apologies to amicus on behalf of those assholic enough to punish stories over politics, no one and I mean no one deserves to have that done to their tales. I don't throw away "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" because I disagree with Heinlein's personal politics. Good literature is good literature. (I don't personally know if ami's is any good, I'm sort of focused 100% on school and my NaNo, but CV is usually pretty good about only advertising stories that have some real talent in them)

Luci, you totally misunderstood what sher meant, you dolt. LOL :D

Ass-kisser. :rose:

Having been hit with 1 votes by someone on the board due to political & personal differences, I understand full well how frustrating that is. Amicus, if you feel that your stories have been given that treatment, simply report the votes. If the powers that be agree with you, they will be removed. It's a painless operation, I assure you. To blame shereads for the simple fact that she posted on this thread seems a bit much, though, to me.

I have not and would not low-score anyone's story because I don't like his politics. I'd rather expend my energy explaining the error of his ways and trying to bring him to the dark side.

In fact, I never score a story unless I can give it an honest 5. I've always said you authors give too much importance to story scores. You don't buy music or fall in love with a painting because it's popular. Yet you beat yourselves up over what is, essentially, a popularity contest. I hadn't realized the extent to which scores are used to punish people until I spent time in the AH and saw all the threads about trolls and "one-bombs."

That's one of the reasons I'm not tempted to post a story. I know I'd be as susceptible as anyone to checking my scores and public comments. I'd be mindful of the danger every time i expressed an opinion here, political or otherwise.

Smoove A, you've hurt my feelings. You remain fine, but you are no longer most fine.

Luc, go to your room.

Unless you can read my mind...as to what is obvious to me or not, then where did you opine that Shereads had any part at all? And no, that person is not whom appeared obvious to me.

"and it is probably obvious where at least one of the '1' votes came from...sighs....morals of a cat..."

That is all I posted concerning my first ever low rated story.

By the way, that was the first time in months I have even looked at the submissions board to see how stories were doing.

Not that it matters...

The art of killing own thread

Folks, I don't want be a spoil-sport and let you down, but I'm bored with this thread.

So, I let you in on a little secret:

Amicus = shereads

This said and done, Amic, I'm eagerly waiting for the second chapter - not that I'm pressuring you to produce an absolute beaut of a wrting. Just make me rock hard in non-gay way.

;)

amicus, if you weren't a least a little into martyrdom, you'd write your stories under a different penname like many others.

that said, it's only the reasons, if any, for the ones and fives, that matter. mostly they have no connection with quality (in the 'real world').
