Forbes:

A quarter believed, for example, that up to half the U.S. aid money given to Ukraine was stolen by Ukrainian officials for personal use. More than half incorrectly thought that Ukraine sold Hamas weapons that had been donated by the U.S.

Meanwhile, fewer than half of respondents correctly identified as false the claim that COVID-19 vaccines have killed between 7.3 and 15 million people worldwide, while 1 in 5 said they believed the claim to be true.

These claims were made on the basis of numbers described as arbitrary by experts, and not based on any research.

Gullibility appears to cut across party lines, with respondents identifying as Democrats just as likely as Republicans to believe at least one of the 10 false claims.

Republicans were, though, more likely to believe Russian disinformation claims than their Democratic counterparts, with 57.6% falling for at least one Russian disinformation claim, compared with just 17.9% of Democrats and 29.5% of people who didn't identify with one particular party.

Russia is spending significant amounts on promulgating misinformation in the U.S. Last year, for example, the U.S. Department of Justice indicted two people for funneling nearly $10 million through a Tennessee-based content creation company to publish misinformation about Ukraine.

What do you think Fox News (not journalism) broadcasts?

Giving US citizenship to Rupert and Elon: sad and self destructive

The disturbing thing is that nobody seems to regard that as an act of war, which it is.

Part of the reason I am so adamant about calling out people like KingDJT, Rightguide, and TastySuckToy for being Russian bots is exactly this- these three have all, at one time or other, basically outed themselves as being Russian nationals (through their comments about Ukraine) is that they blatantly and shamelessly promote utterly false and debunked information as fact, with the sole purpose of spreading lies and undermining America as a free democratic society.

The larger geo-political goal of course is to allow Russia to have carte blanche not only in Ukraine but to allow him to fulfill his designs upon the rest of eastern Europe basically unimpeded. With Trump in office and now basically allied with Putin, they have largely succeeded in this.

Well wrongways absent again. I guess Putin cheque bounced.

Rightguide is still here, but he no longer uses his other two alts (Sugardaddy and Counselor706.) Which I respect him for, even if it's the ONLY thing I respect him for. (I say this because there is one sad sack incel on this forum who goes by no less than two dozen aliases- two dozen and counting!.)

Meanwhile, after Renard Ruse was outed as a Russian (and he basically admitted it) he dissappeared from the forums- hopefully Rightguide and SuckToy will follow suit soon enough.
