Iowa beat Penn State 6 to 4 in a game of American football today, Saturday 10/23/2004. No, not baseball or soccer, American football! Iowa scored two first half field goals and then held on, conceding a late safety to prevent having to punt from their own end zone.

For those not familiar with American football, the final score is an oddity rarely seen in American football.

OK, so it is not erotica, I just couldn't resist pointing out the very unusual occurence.

We saw that. My other half said it was more like a baseball score. Very odd score.
We were keeping an eye on the Oklahoma game!

I'm a sooner's freak, hubby is a hurricane fanatic... now wouldn't that be a game. Someone would be sleeping on the couch for a week !!!

Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I saw that. I was actually sitting in the stands at the Pitt - Rutgers game. It put a smile of the faces of many Pit fans, I can tell you that. We're not so fond of the Nittany Lions, in case you weren't aware...

A score of six in a football game is not unusual. It would be a touchdown and a missed PAT or it might be two field goals, like in this case. Four is a very unusual score; that means two safeties, and that is a Big Ten record for one game, maybe a record for any college game. Probably not a record by itself but it ties a record.

You could call it erotic because Iowa fucked over Penn State.

I saw the score and was surprised. It did look more like a baseball score. I was busy watching Alabama blow the game with Tennessee.
