i figured that instead of making a whole bunch of threads about shows on PBS, i'll just put all that information in one place. i know, i know..you will all be dying to have this information.

Today on PBS i was watching a pretty fun show called Globe Trekkers. ( http://www.pilotguides.com/tv_shows/globe_trekker/ )

Super cute host showing the sites of Vienna and Salsbury. Funny and full of information. If you are interested in travel, check it out!

Ian Wright (this weeks guide...they could have a better picture of him..he's really pretty cute..but this is PBS)

There are other guides too...and they are all chicas!

April 9th on my PBS station there is going to be a documentary about Peter and Paul and the Christian Revolution. The commercials make it look really interesting. if i have time i will probably check it out.

No wonder you get no dates....

Dear Hanns:

why is that? what about watching PBS causes me to get no dates?

Thanks for your insight,
Amelia

Any decent concerts or anthologies on music groups or artists other than what you have mentioned coming up?

Amelia, I like and watch PBS too. Many men actually appreciate a woman who can talk about more than what color nail polish she wears. Hans is the expection rather than the rule. :)

I love Globetrekker! Great show! Ian makes it fun too.
I like the backpacker way of travelling. That show stirs my gypsy soul!

Did anyone see the special on Joni Mitchell? She's been around a long time and has the voice of an angel.

I love all the British comedies too.
:D

I need to get back into PBS, I havent really watched it much since the sesame street days. Back then I watched it all morning when I was 4.

Red Dwarf!

And Hans is only bored by chicks who watch PBS because chicks who have brains are bored by him.

tonight, the documentary Daughter from Danang was on. a well made film that was nominated for an oscar in the best documentary catagory. i watched the first half and i'm taping the second half so i can finish working on a paper for class. (yeah, that's what posting at lit is...working on a paper. ) i'm not sure if it will come on again, but if it does..check it out.

Honey, I feel edumacated just opening up this thread.

Thanks.

You have to appreciate those girls who have the brains to talk about just everything. I think that is probably Amelia's best traits. I think sometimes I can talk to her forever about stuff.

I like "American Experience". It's more Ken Burns hooplah, but I like his style. The Mark Twain series was especially good, as was their history of Chicago - from Marshall Field to the fire and the city's planned reconstruction.

They show "Are You Being Served?" here Sundays. Good stuff.

And yet, they insist on scaling back funding.

Manor House starts tonight. it's a reality show..with a twist.

I enjoyed it. Did you watch 1900 House or the one where the families had to live on the prairie as the pioneers did?

I find those shows fascinating, as they illustrate how many of the very basic things we take for granted have changed in a relatively short time.

That history of Chicago thing was pretty cool.

They also had a neat special on the history of Islam. I was taking a middle eastern history class at the time and it basically summarized everything I learned in two hours. I Definetly suggest that one.

i watched 1900 house and enjoyed it very much.

It's interesting to see how much the people changed from the beginning of the show to the end.

you could already see the "masters" of the house changing on the current one (manor house)..that little boy is a bit of a brat.
