AMAZON ACCOUNT SUSPENDED

Okay, I don't think the issue has anything to do with the panties.

It's the woman covering her breasts. They refer to this as a 'Hand bra" and they don't allow it because she's 'touching herself"

That's the problem.

That's a shame. It's an empowering, wholesome picture!

Yep - I have had a couple of custom book covers prepped for stuff I'm working on and that was what the guy doing the covers for me told me - no naked breasts and no handsies - has to be covered, concealed or out of sight.

My challenge is finding asian girls for covers - unless you get something custom done, I find it's really hard to find anything

You really are better doing the more romancy covers - a bit if innuendo is okay but nothing too explict, and you have to be fairly careful with anything bdsm too.

I know nothing about self-publishing. I'm guessing Amazon is simple, and potentially allows a huge audience. But what are the alterantives, which allow more freedom in erotic content?
Draft2Digital / Smashwords, and they'll put you out to everyone

Thats for mainstream erotica. Stuff like incest is waaaaaaay more limited

Amazon? Bezos can kiss my fuckin' ass. He has screwed-up so much that used to be right and good. Recent victim of his avarice is The Washinton Post, formerly a fortress of quality journalism, now a bastion of ass-kissing.

I published three stories on KDP (10k a piece), all in the hotwife/swapping world. They weren’t changing the world, but they were ticking over nicely. Story four came along, and for whatever reason, as the first three were fine, it was dungeoned and hidden from search results. This tanked my progress, and reads in general fell off a cliff.

I kept both the titles and covers somewhat classy and respectful (more sensual than screaming XXX hardcore), and I didn’t want to poke the bear by reaching out to ask support why they had chosen to restrict that particular book for fear of drawing unwanted attention to myself.

In the end, I unpublished and archived all of my erotica on KDP. I plan to publish romance one day and I didn’t want to risk my entire KDP account over a few dollars made off smut.

I’ve got a D2D account but haven’t published there yet because it doesn’t seem like my content is taboo enough for it be worth bothering with. Now I’m back here after many years, wondering what I can do with my stories. We shall see.

(FYI, for those who’ve never published on KDP, be aware you cannot delete a book once it’s been published with them. You can de-list it from their site, and archive it (which hides it from your KDP panel), but you can never delete it.)

TLDR unless you’re writing spicy romance, I wouldn’t bother with Amazon in regards to straight up erotica. I’m sure others will disagree, but that’s my two cents.
