Just curious... How many of these pics are of the person who is posting? Asking for opinions here...!!

Some of them are quite obviously taken by web cams ect...but there are quite a few that have the look of proffesional photographers.

i was looking at some the other day and the person was posting pics of two different people. it was kinda amusing. not that i really cared, they were nice pictures of a very attractive person, just obviously not all the same person.
:)

I've always posted my own.
I cant see the point in posting pics that are obviously airbrushed and touched up and pro looking.

It kinda defeats the purpose of an Amateur pic site dont it?

hehe I post pictures of myself only... After All I"m proud of my COCK!

AusTess, I think everyone here realizes that that lovely body is yours, and not fake. :)

I agree with you though- it's called an Amateur pic for a reason. Why bother posting it if it's not of you, or if it's all retouched?

"Airbrushed" does kind of defeat the "amateur" quality. However, "Pro-looking" is often the result of an amateur recruiting an experienced photographer to take the pictures, or just a really good photographer who is also an exhibitionist.

I took all the pics of me that MA posted with the exception of the 1 I actually have clothes on.

my pics

all the pics i post are of me - i have no problem with touching up photos with software or whatever - my problem is with those that were taken by a professional photographer and then posted in the "amateur" pic forum - and it's quite evident which ones are in that category - kind of defeats the purpose of the forum ~

How do you distinguish between a professional photographer and a talented photo-hobbyist?

All of my pictures always look amatuer. I don't think there will ever be any doubt on that one.
Why would someone post fake pic's on the internet? On a site that let's you be who you want to be?
Is the admiration from people you don't know, over a picture you had nothing to do, with that great?

But hey if it's their cup of tea........Everybody get's their willies in a different way I guess......

it's my opinion that most times you can tell by the composition, exposure and overall "quality" - now if you put me to the test, maybe i wouldn't be 100% correct - i'm aware there are some very talented photo-hobbyists - i understand your point and i hope you see mine ~

I think our only difference of opinion is in whether a picture is "amateur" because of the subject or the photographer.

I'm of the opinion that if the subject is in fact an amateur, (and who it is represented to be,) then the better the quality the better I like the picture -- whether the photographer was paid or not.

I think the real question of this thread, is why people mis-represent pictures taken from the web as being board members. For all I know, some of the board members are, in fact, professional porn stars.

I do object to "amateur pictures" that insult my intelligence by claiming several different people are the same user.

Well, I still think that if a pro photographer is employed it knocks the pic out of amatuer status... Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy all the pics and some are incredibly beautiful!

I especially like the trend towards "themes" we have been seeing lately...

That still begs the question of how to distinguish between a professional and a talented hobbyist.

Mae13's pictures of her trip to DC are very close to "professional quality" as are some of the poses in her racier threads. Do we chastise her for being too good a photographer and ban her to the professional ranks?

Amatuer vs Professional

What is the first thing you think of when you combine amatuer and erotica??????

I think of reveiling pictures of subjects. The quality depends on the type of equipment you use and the photographers knowledge of photography. I think of myself as a amatuer photographer even after shooting thousands of pictures in my life.

My opinon , in part, is the same as Weird Harold's. I dont believe that the quality has anything at all to do with the suggested subject of the Amatuer Pic Board but, every thing to do with mis-representation of pictures posted there.

I dosn't matter how bad or how good a picture looks, what does matter is the how it is presented by the person posting it.

Again, Weird Harold if I may.... Please do not insult my intelligence by claiming a picture is of yourself or a close friend or relative when it is not.

I love looking at nude pictures.....so if you have one that you can legally post on the board.....please do and I will reply with my comments on the picture.....but I will not knowingly reply to "false or phony post"........If its not your subject just say it.......
