What’s been the common thread within all of your writing?

Wow. Deep question. Thank you.

I have fallen into the Stephen King trap of making myself the protagonist a lot. A friend encouraged me to try writing in a female voice. I did once. It was okay. But I think the main underlying thread is still "you're never too old for any of this".

I don't talk much outside of here about my sex life. Most of my friends would be astonished to find that I have one, let alone that I have multiple kinks. I have one other guy I talk about this with a bit. I think it started when he was worried about having sex with his pregnant wife (thinking he'd hit the baby). Anyways the conversation drifted into more detail and he stopped me and said "Wait, you're still fucking?" I informed him that without asking directly I could tell him that his parents (my age) we likely also engaging in the horizontal mamba. I think he was shocked.

TL:DR versions: Old People Fuck.

What does your profile name mean?

THAT is what I thought the first question would be lol.

It stands for "There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch"

It is from "Time Enough For Love" by Robert A. Heinlein my favourite Science Fiction writer. It expresses a certain political view to be sure, one that is lost on most politicians.

It is more importantly (to me) a concise expression of the Second Law of Thermodynamics, the one that says among other things, "You can't break even" and
that perpetual motion is not possible in an open system (like the universe).

It also brings out other Heinlein fans, so I know who the nerdy pervs are.

Heinlen is among my top 3 sci-fi writers, along with Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke. I've always preferred science-based sci-fi over fantasy sci-fi.

What has the world of Literotica exposed you to and how have you grown as a result?

Do you read other genre besides sci-fi?

What's your favorite comfort food?

If you could arrange a Litogether, where would you want everyone to meet?
How many do you think would show up?

Where would you like to travel?

I love the Caribbean. I'd love to go to Roatan (Costa Rico, for the whale sharks) or the DR (for the cigars) or Trinidad (for the Rum) or the Turks and Caicos to see what might have been (there has been several attempts to make Turks and Caicos part of Canada over the last 60 years, but nothing has come of it).

And, as a whisky lover, I would like to travel to the Isle of Islay and claim my dram from the Laphroaig distillery (I "own" a square inch of the distillery from a promotion they have run for years)

Good to see you here BCC.

I think the main things are first, that I am not the only kinky person out there. As I said somewhere else, discussions about sex are frowned upon in our society. So having an outlet to discuss things like you would discuss sports or hobbies is enlightening (even if it can be difficult to keep on track lol). That in turn has made me more open about sex and relationships.

Second, that no two D/s relationships are the same. There are levels. But, for the most part those who live it 24/7 are accepting of those who prefer "bedroom bondage" and visa versa.

Its also good to know that flirting isn't dead.

I have come to believe that people are more accepting of imperfections. Even I have posted in AmPics and received positive feedback. Sometimes the place gets to me, but I have an awful lot of fun.

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch...but you know to a friend, you would not even have to ask for lunch. It would already be available for and to you.

Horror (Stephen King is a better writer than he gets credit for), Murder mysteries (I really enjoy the old Travis McGee stories), Historical non-fiction: Canadian History is not taught well here. It is way more interesting than I had been told in school. Somebody should make a movie about Sgt Sam Steel of the RCMP. Or the Battle of Ortona, or okay, I'm rambling again...
What's your favorite comfort food?
Pasta with a nice home-made marinara and hot Italian sausages from the local butcher. Oh, and lots of Chianti.

The location is a problem. It has to be appealing, offer opportunities for serious discussion (say a big table or a lounge) and debauchery (lots of horizontal surfaces and attachment points). It also needs to be accessible from all over North America, Europe and Australia and New Zealand. It needs to be warm for those who choose casual nudity. As much as I would love to suggest a lodge in Northern Ontario, I think a white sand beach in the Caribbean. Or better yet: A Sailing ship in the Caribbean, stopping at unnamed keys and kays for lazy afternoons.

I would hope that anyone who could afford the flight would come. It won't be the same without everyone.

Or...given the current realities, a Zoom, Team Meeting or Skype Litogether might be more appropriate. That would let the shy folks continue to keep their faces hidden.

Those sound like some fantastic trips. Whisky is quite tasty.

A Lit zoom meeting! I'm trying to imagine it now.

How did you discover you were kinky? Do you identify as Dominant - with a capital D?

Ouch.

I knew what it stood for, but for some reason, until you mentioned it, I'd thought it was from Stranger in a Strange Land. (And your avatar reminded me of how I'd envisioned Jubal Harshaw as he explained it to Michael Valentine Smith.)

But, now that you mention it, I do remember Lazarus Long (aka Woodrow Wilson Smith) explaining the concept to...er... the hetaera maybe?... in what was supposed to be his final memoir before he chose to Sail Beyond the Sunset.

I'll have to see if it's still hiding in my shelves so I can read it again. Or if it was in the three-quarters of our library that didn't survive the move.

Do I have to turn in my nerdy-perv library card now?

What moment/choice do you think would have changed your life the most drastically had it gone differently?

What is your favorite holiday?

If you could create your own holiday, what would it be?

What is something you've never tried, but would like to?

My various kinks were invariably things I simply found appealing at some basic level and merely followed them to the logical and twisted conclusion. I think it started with knots. I take a great deal of pride in my knowledge of knots (and I'm always learning). And , yes, I learned as a Scout in the 70s. Once I realized that every knot had a purpose I started to look at them more closely. The Handcuff knot is derived from a knot used to hobble a horse (to keep it from bolting without hurting it). If you tie it right, it gets tighter as you pull on it. BINGO! You add James Bond and Scooby Doo (Daphne and Velma had a talent for getting tied up...sorry I was gone for a while, now I'm back). Next thing you know she's messing around with my necktie and, well all of a sudden we need a safeword.

For the purpose of a label, I identify as Dominant and for written clarity, with a capital D. But as I have said, my D/s relationship is not 24/7, it's mostly (serious) play in the bedroom.

Evidently neither of us groks RAH completely. I have my timelines mixed. I suppose that's because I read "Number of the Beast" most recently. my research seems to indicate that its considered a major plot point of "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" (yeah, I see that) which was published in 1966, between Stranger (1961) and Time... (1973).

Jubal Harshaw? That's high praise indeed brother. Never thirst.

FRONT!

What are you looking forward to right now?

I have been looking forward to Thanksgiving, which is Monday here. It was going to be the first time the whole family would be able get together since last Christmas.

""Was"

COVID numbers have spiked here and the government has asked us all to limit gatherings to members of our household. (Everything associated with the holiday was cancelled ages ago: no parade, no football, no hockey and no Oktoberfest ).

So, I'm looking forward to taking my grandson to a pumpkin path, buying a metric ton of pumpkins and then carving pumpkins for Halloween and not handing out treats.

I casually mentioned to a friend that i hadnt had a date in months. He said that his girlfriend's best friend had just gone through a bad breakup. Would he like me to set us up. I'd never had a blind date, but I said yes. We've been married 37 years. :)
