Am I doing something wrong?

I submitted a story over 2 weeks ago (Word.docx) and it hasn't been posted yet. I've sent 4 or 5 e-mails to the site to ask if I did something wrong, but haven't gotten any feedback. There aren't any objectionable themes in the story.

Is it typical for a .docx to take this long? If not, what is the best way to contact the site to see what I can do to fix things.

Sounds like it didn't actually get submitted. And, if you sent e-mails, they may not have gone anywhere. A few folks here claim to receive answers to their e-mails to the site, but a preponderance report no response, as you are reporting. Try sending a PM (Private Message, top right of this screen) to the only submissions editor, Laurel (using that account address). It may be that something didn't get clicked correctly on the submissions page because she's averaging two days for posting at the moment.

I must be an idiot.

Evidently my PM is 'turned off' and I've looked all through my control panel to see how I can 'allow' PMs. Where do I 'allow' PMs?

Found these instructions for that: "Go to User CP (top left of this page), click on Edit Options (in the left hand column), and then tick Enable Private Messaging in the second box down. Make sure that the next box down (Receive Private Messages only from Buddies and Moderators) is NOT ticked. Finally click Save Changes at the bottom of that page."

Naw. The Web site isn't that easy to navigate and it has a lot of broken parts hanging off of it.
