I like coming to Literotica, but are there other places people like posting their stories to?

(Don't flame me! I'm just curious!)

I post at these sites, in addition to Literotica:

StoriesOnline.net
EroticStories.com
LushStories.com
AfterDark-Online.com

They all have their ups and down, so you should investigate them first. Lush, for example, has very strict anti-violence rules. EroticStories does not allow incest or violence. StoriesOnline (SOL) goes the other way and has few if any rules.

I read at EroticStories. com. Not as interesting as here, though.

If you don't mind fan fiction, I post adult-rated fan fiction at AFC Stories (link's in my signature).

The dark side indeed, estragon.

The Kristen Archives is one of the first story sites we found. Not only is it difficult to find stories without children in the sex act, most writers couldn't pass 8th grade English.

The Kristen Archives are good, but I really pay attention to the tags. The writing is horrible, but at least there are some decent plot lines there. I follow a few authors on ASSTR as well, but I rarely scan the site for updates. Too much stuff that I'm not interested in.

XNXX.com & Xhamster.com started some story sections, but they are pretty bad.

Thanks for all the links. Keep them coming please! I have to say, Literotica seems to be the tops for accessibility and quality!

It is. Why go elsewhere?

To get more eyes on your stuff. There are people who don't come to this site. I couldn't give you numbers, but I don't think it hurt when I had my books for sale to have my name and other stories visible on other sites.

I post most of my GM stories both here and at gaydemon.com. They get a broader readership here, but they also are zapped multiple times just for the hell of it coming right out of the chute. At gaydemon.com, I can gauge better how they are received by the audience they actually are targeted for and who aren't just hate mongering for various reasons.

Yeah, I would think homophobes wouldn't click on a strictly gay site, would look bad for them.

They can be on lit and claim its for the other stories and just slip into GM or whatever other cat they hate and bomb away

Along the same lines, I post stories for a short while to EroticStories.com to see just how bad the troll vote has affected a story here that I thought should have done better.

Everyone who votes over there is registered and their vote is posted in a list for every story so you know who voted how. It also lets you figure out who the trolls are rather quickly. Art, the site owner tries to keep the alts to a minimum.

It's a good way to cross reference your stories to score.

Thanks to everyone, and PennLady and TxRad in particular. It looks like Literotica seems to be the primary place to post English-language stories. Though I wonder how people are posting on Facebook, Blogger and other places and getting the word out about their stuff. And PayDay, the party never stops at Lit!

I post some of my stories on Yahoo Adult Groups, mainly ones for specific fetishes, but the response to them has been minimal.

One now long-gone group was the exception. Comments from the moderator and members helped to improve the story in outline and detail, making it more attractive to followers of that obscure fetish.

I have reduced the number of groups that I post to because of spam infestations.

There are some groups on Facebook -- I'm in a few of them like Erotica and I'd have to get the other names. The problem with Facebook is depending on the site, you can't post a direct link to your story. I used to be able to post direct links to Lit but I can't.

It would be a different story on your blog. I have a blog at Wordpress (see my sig) and can link directly from there. One advantage Lit does have is that they do not require an account for reading a story. Other sites might only let you see part.

I agree. The thing that staggered me though and almost made me go looking for a different site to participate in, is the difficulty in finding a search link on the first page. I had actually been here and thought the front interface was too clunky and kept looking for about a month. Honestly few are easier to find things in though

1stsexstories.com

is very easy to find what you're looking for. Not a lot of activity there though. No feedback mechinism or support of any kind though (even from other writers).

Glad I'm here. Now that I'm here it's pretty simple actually. I think maybe the front end is because lit has so much to offer to so many different kinds of perver... people.

An addendum to the OP: Where are good places to submit bisexual category stories? (since Literotica shows no interest in supporting them)

Not sure what the criteria for a "good place" is, but StoriesOnline.net works on tagging stories instead of categories or genres. When you submit a story, you can select tons of things about it to let readers know what's in it, and they have a specific "bisexual" tag.

Another place I forgot to mention is velvet9.com. I posted a few things there and had nice feedback but it's pretty small and I was told it's hard to get things deleted from there. I haven't tried yet so I can't say. Also only posted relatively "safe" stuff so I'm not sure about their rules on violence, etc.

I wonder if youre coming around to PILOTs way of thinking.

I've visited some other sites, but I sincerely think Literotica is the best.
